And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and LIFE. (John 6:63)

These instructions are not empty words—they are your LIFE! (Deuteronomy 32:47)

Listen carefully to my words.
Don’t lose sight of them.
Let them penetrate deep into your heart,
for they bring LIFE to those who find them,
and healing to their whole body. (Proverbs 4:20-22)

The kind of life God wants to give us – the life we receive when we live on His Word – is a life of absolute fullness. The Hebrew word  for life denotes an image of a green tree. We want our lives to be fresh and green and fruitful, not dry and brittle. Jesus, after fasting 40 days in the desert, preparing for his ministry, said, “People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)

“My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10)

Who is feeding your life? If it’s Jesus, and you are following His ways, you’re on the path to a rich and satisfying life. What are you digesting? If it’s the Word of God, you’re headed for supernatural joy that God has prepared for you. Hear the dinner bell? Let’s eat!

Father,

I open my up my heart to your Word today. Open my ears and eyes to see and understand what you are saying to me. Your Word brings encouragement to my soul. Thank you, Jesus, that you are the Word of God. I receive your Spirit in my life today. I choose to walk with you throughout each moment of this day, listening for Your word that gives me eternal life… Eternal life that begins NOW!

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
