I will praise the Lord at all times.
I will constantly speak his praises. Psalm 34:1

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Phil. 4:4

Always. At all times. Is this too much of the Lord to ask of us? Does God ask us to do things that are outside of our capacities?

Not when He’s there to teach us. Let’s start by requesting help…

Father,

You know that my default is not to praise, but to fear, complain, and wallow. Your Word instructs me to praise – outloud – incessantly. And you instruct me to continually fill my heart with joy over who you are and what you have done for me, even when circumstances stink. So, with your help, I will seek to praise you throughout this day, breathing in and out my thanks, being grateful for the big and little things you have done for me, given me, and promised me. I cannot fill this high order without your miraculous help. Once again I am faced with the necessity of a transformation of my whole person. But you are up to that task! So have at it, my Great Potter. Reshape me, mold me, change me, until I reflect Your image.

In Jesus’ Name
