Mom and me“Her children rise and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:28

Mom,

Thank you for all you have given up for your family…. sleep, money, your own desires, your dreams… Much of your self was left on the shelf for years — the only thing dusty in your house, waiting for the freedom to be heard and experienced. Some of it never did come into being because of your self-sacrifice; it will all be waiting for you in Another World. So, I rise from my chair to show my respect, and I say what I haven’t said enough: You are a wonderful person, Mom. You have weathered your storms well and have come out better because of them. Many have benefited from the gift of who you are. And you will follow your own mandate when you leave this world. You will leave it better, tidier, wiser, healthier, and happier than you found it ninety years ago. May every seed of love that you have planted in my life return to you in multiplied ways.

I love you,
Me

Father of All Mothers,

Bless our moms today. Grant them strength, health, joy, grace, laughter, freedom from guilt, and hope for the future. Give them a hunger to know Your love, to love You more, and to follow You every day.

In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
