Prayer, Plain and Simple

God Bless Egypt!

020111_egyptmass.jpgA quarter-million people flooded Cairo’s main square today in a stunning, jubilant and mostly peaceful protest demanding that for President Hosni Mubarak step down from power.  The crowd was young and old, urban poor and middle class professionals. It was by far the largest protest yet in a week of extraordinary public protest.

“God, bring your will in Egypt. Bring freedom and liberty, in order and without violence. Give wisdom to the leaders of this movement. Move the heart of Mubarak to release his grip and yield to the tide of your hand in history. Resist any who would take advantage of this season. And settle the rest of the Arab world as well… In Jesus…”

If all had the Christ living in their being as Jesus did, government and people alike, there would be none of this stupid stuff, no bombings, no hijacked airplanes, none of this violent rage associated with hate and self. God is love and all would be trying to help the other instead of having power over them.

MAY THE PEACE BE WITH EGYPT

  • The Great Commission

With the uprisings in Egypt, president Obama is urging Americans to be good missionaries by contributing all their money to Egypt and many to soon volunteer their time to help the people in need. That is Obama’s good christian coalition for America. Our churches thank God for a good president such as Obama because Obama is a good christian man and a family person too.

Some of our law enforcement and FBI say that the looting and rioting are going to affect the U.S. but we have a good military that will protect us from any insurgents. We are well protected from another 9-11. Americans need to relax and be confident that we have a good strong military that will protect America from al-quaida infringement.

God Raises Dead Marriages to Life Again
My dove is hiding behind the rocks, behind an outcrop on the cliff. Let me see your face; let me hear your voice. For your voice is pleasant, and your face is lovely. Song of Songs 2:14 Where did the love go that was once so evident and strong? It eludes us along the marriage path sometimes. It tak

Speaking Hard Truths... In Love
Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. Ephesians 4:15 This month we have prayed for marriages, particularly in the area of communication. God's Word instructs us to "speak the truth," but it doesn't stop t

If You Dare, Make This Your Prayer
Here I am Lord, send me. (Isaiah 6:8) Prayer is a gift, isn’t it?! We connect in simple words to the Creator of creation. That alone is astounding. We stand together to offer up our praise and our needs, and here we discover truly what human relationships are intended for. It’s an honor to pr

A Prayer for a Renovated Soul
Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me now let me rejoice. Psalm 51:7 The bad news comes before the Good News. It must. But now we turn that corner. We ask God for blessing, but we first recognize
