Prayer for Amy Mickelson and Others Battling Breast Cancer

posted by Mark Herringshaw

Phil Mickelson won another Green Jacket at the Masters yesterday. He did it in his typical “damn the torpedoes; full speed ahead” style. Mickelson is the “anti-Tiger” in so many ways. And I – with a majority of the rest of the world – was pulling for him all the way!

An emotional Mickelson dedicated his victory to his wife, Amy who has been battling breast cancer. Despite her illness she did manage to make her way to Augusta this week to cheer on her man, Phil. Mickelson seemed to use this inspiration to charge forward and take the day. I do not pretend to know the intricacies of the Mickelson’s marriage. Rumors of athletes and their spouses run rampant. But whatever the state of their history, at present their vows “for better or worse, in sickness and in health” seem to be standing. Here’s another stark contrast to the anti-Phil pouting the other green who’s super-model wife Elin was conspicuously NOT in Georgia this week.

So here’s a standing “O” for Phil and Amy. God bless ‘em!

Breast cancer of course is a terrible curse to bear and the tens of thousands of women (and families of those women) struggling with it need prayer and encouragement. And those women today need a the affirmation of support, loyalty and commitment from their spouses and family. Let’s join now in a specific prayer of healing for those struggling with breast cancer and the families that are affected.

“God, cancer is not and never your will. You do not make our cells to rebel against our bodies. You have a blueprint for our lives and your intent is for our bodies to follow this blueprint. Cancer is a curse and a rebellion against this plan. In response, we join you God, and curse the cancer cells in the bodies of all those women who suffer breast cancer. Bring healing to their bodies. Bring everything back to order. Cause their immune systems to rise and defeat these tumors. Give medical workers wisdom and stamina to help this battle. Thank you for the knowledge you have revealed through science. Put medications to work to cooperate with your healing. For those doing research and looking for more clues to curing this blight – give them what the secrets they need to know! God, stand over each person who endures this sickness and give hope and joy and physical and emotional strength – beyond what is natural! Give them ALL they need today and in Jesus’ name, give them healing and wholeness!”

Assuming that God has “a blueprint for our lives” how can you be so certain that such a blueprint does not contain instructions for “our cells to rebel against our bodies”? Perhaps cancer and other afflictions are God’s intent for a purpose that you cannot fathom?

I am a survivor and have a book finished to help guide the next victim thru the ordeal in plain language. It focuses on ‘life after’. I have tried unsuccessfully to get one of these books to Amy because it would definitely help her right now. It has been endorced by many doctors. I just want her to have it. Please tell me how to make that happen.
    thank you so much………..charlavan
