Prayer, Plain and Simple

A Bar Exam Serenity Prayer

At this very moment there are thousands of people across the United States taking the Bar Exam. Each of those people have studied and sacrificed for the past several months just to get them to this very moment, a 2-day exam that will test their proficiency in the law. I found a wonderful prayer for the bar exam based on the serenity prayer that I wanted to share with anyone who may be interceding on behalf of someone taking the bar. I also consider it part of my prayer for every person taking the bar exam today and tomorrow.

Dear God,

Please grant me the serenity to accept the things I do not know;
Wisdom to answer the questions to the best I can; and
Courage to execute and be disciplined through the conclusion.
Marching one section at a time;
Enjoying one second at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to success on the Bar;
Taking, as He did, this sinful bar exam as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in my choice of this professional career and supremely happy with Him.
Forever in the next.

I wish for a chance to use my knowledge, power, and talent to serve others.
I pledge that I have done my best and I leave no regret behind.
Please bless me and all those who deserve to pass the bar.
Amen.

  • Your Name

    Many are called,few are chosen,for if it is God’s will that he will choose anyone,that someone will make it through,no matter what.For
    i believe,that God sustains and provides everything He wills,for the glory for His name,for the fulfillment of His provisions for us who loves Him.

    Great prayer. I’ll be sure to pass this post along to our students. It should be able to keep people calm during what is a crazy exam. The prayer also contains some very helpful advice.

Who I Am in Jesus
Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT) I love the notion of starting over – of God wiping the slate clean and re-designing my life after I've messed it up. Being IN CHRIST or "belonging to Christ" means that I l
