Koran 55:1

Daily Scripture

He laid the earth for his creatures, with all its fruits and blossom-bearing palm, chaff-covered grain and scented herbs. Which of your Lord’s blessings would you deny?
Koran 55:1

Fruits and blossom-bearing palm, scented herbs and chaff-covered grain. The lovely description of the Lord’s blessings borrows imagery from growing things that spring from the Earth. In this scripture from the Koran 55:1, we’re challenged to eliminate one of those blessings, with the possibility that we would have trouble choosing. How well the Lord knows us, and how much we have to learn about ourselves.

Thank you for asking about the origin of the column. Prayables is a multifaith prayer community with roots mainly in Christian-Judeo religions. We believe that all good people have shared values: living lives devoted to God, security and love. When selecting quotes from scripture, we find Godly messages in many sources. Respect for the beliefs of others, is one of the guiding principles for Prayables editorial staff. We do not judge or proselytize anyone’s religious convictions. Blessings to you, your support is greatly appreciated. Susan Diamond, Prayables Publisher
