A bunch of years ago I stumbled upon Nancy, the star of Ernie Bushmiller’s comic strip of the same name, “Nancy.” As I remember it, Nancy was pictured with a box of cookies in one hand and a hammer in the other. Her aunt was yelling from another room. “Don’t spoil your appetite. Dinner will be ready soon.” To which Nancy replied, “I’m only eating the crumbs.”
I ran into the Buddha on the Road to Sveltesville, and I said, “Buddha, I’ve been thinking that I great way to begin to lose weight would be to eliminate high fat and sugary foods. What do you think?” And the Buddha replied, “Maybe!” What did the Buddha mean? …. Here follows some new thinking on how to move from heavy to light that has nothing to do with fat or sugar!!!
I promise you that as you take the time to be honest, be brave, look deep and write down at least 50 things that you are tolerating, putting up with and/or STOMACHING, you will find yourself in a new place. A place where you can see, feel, experience and even taste your ‘lite.’ What are you putting up with? Tolerating? Stomaching? What is weighing you down? Day 1 of my workshop entitled “Our Lady of Weight Loss enLIGHTens” was fabulous! On the one hand, it feels like we just got here, on the other hand, it feels as if we’ve all known each other forever!!!
