Best Apple Brown Betty Recipe Ever!

Our Lady of Weight Loss: Apple Brown Betty Recipe, Best EverCan you smell the amazing aroma coming from my kitchen? I just whipped up a tray of Apple Brown Betty. I’m so sad that you’re not my neighbor and can’t popover for an afternoon tea party. Wouldn’t that be awesome?!
As a consolation prize, here follows the best Apple Brown Betty recipe ever! FYI … it’s one of the many delicious Our Lady of Weight Loss approved recipes from my book, All Is Forgiven, Move On (required reading for anyone who has lost ‘it’ and found ‘it’ more than once).
Apple Brown Betty is an American dessert that dates back to colonial times. A “betty” is baked pudding made with layers of sweetened and spiced fruit and buttered bread crumbs. It’s often served with some kind of cream. Not here! Forgetaboutit!
Ingredients:
6 golden delicious apples, sliced
3/4 cup frozen apple juice concentrate
1/2 cup golden raisins
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup whole-wheat flour
1/3 cup quick oats
3 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
3 tablespoons buttah!
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Coat a medium-size baking dish with nonstick spray. Set it aside.
3. In a large bowl, combine the apples, apple juice concentrate, raisins, cinnamon and three tablespoons of the flour. Spoon the mixture into a baking dish.
4. In a medium bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, butter and remaining flour. Stir the mixture until it is crumbly. Sprinkle it over the apple mixture.
5. Bake the pudding for 1 hour, or until it is bubbly and golden brown. Serve it warm. YUM!

Start Manifesting Your Dreams

Janice Taylor, Our Lady of Weight Loss "CUCKOO self-portrait"Melissa Wadsworth, Dream Leader, recently spoke with Janice Taylor, Our Lady of Weight Loss (me!). Melissa is amazing person, with whom I have much in common. First and foremost, our love of glue, scissors and paper. We are both collagists and use our art to manifest our dreams. My dream – to not only lose over 50 pounds, but to reinvent myself; and Melissa to create her own ‘dream’ business. Here follows the interview. Be sure to visit Melissa’s site!
Melissa Wadsworth on Janice Taylor: Weight Loss Fun and aHA Moments!
I just had a great AHA! as I was talking with “Our Lady of Weight Loss” Janice Taylor. She was talking about the fact that many of us see weight loss as difficult. She says, “weight loss is as difficult as you make it.”
Ding, ding, ding, light bulbs went off in my head. I realized that I think having abundance in my personal potential coaching business can be easy. Creating intuitive dream boards can be the most amazing and easy process ever, but I realized I still hang on to the perspective that losing weight is a very, very, very difficult endeavor. Huh? How freeing it would be to change that thought!
Janice Taylor is a coach, guided imagery innovator, motivational speaker, and author of All is Forgiven MOVE ON: Our Lady of Weight Loss’s 101 Fat-Burning Steps on Your Journey to Sveltesville, and she’s the only person I’ve ever heard of who dares to make the subject of weight loss fun! What a great gift to the world.
“I can be serious, but I’m never heavy,” says Janice (no pun intended), who contended with a lifelong weight problem and who has managed to maintain her 50-pound weight loss for more than eight years. “People tell me I come across as the least judgmental person on the planet. Who am I to judge others?”
Just in speaking with Janice I sense the loving, peaceful and playful qualities that must attract people who are tired of beating themselves up about how they look and who want a kinder, more enjoyable way to approach their physical, emotional and even spiritual well-being. ,,, for the fully skinny, Read On!

10 Tips – Wake Up Happier and Thinner

KICKOL-LOGO.jpgThis morning, at 6:47 a.m. to be precise, I was interviewed by the fabulous Dr. Alvin Augustus Jones on The Paradise Radio Network, WCBQ-AM 1340 and WHNC-AM 890.
In keeping with the time of day, Dr. Jones asked me if I had any tips on how best to start our day. Here, I share the full list, my top 10 tips that are sure to energy, boost moods, lift spirits and help you to lose weight!
1. Start your day with a smile. Just as your eyes are fluttering and you are becoming aware that a new day stands before you, smile. It sets a positive tone that will reverberate throughout your day.
2. Expect a miracle. Believe that something extraordinary will show up in your day. Open your heart and mind and allow the universe to bestow gifts and blessings on you.
3. A blast of fresh air. Open a window or two and take in a deep breath of fresh air. So refreshing!
4. Drink a glass or two of water. Your body is hard at work when you are sleeping, and your water levels are not being replenished. Drinking water upon waking helps to flush the toxins out of your body, energize you and helps in your weight loss efforts.
5. Dance to the music. Turn on and tune into your favorite dance music. Shake your booty. Can you feel the happy energy swirling?
6. Take a cold shower. Enjoy your hot shower, but be sure to end it on a cold note! Not only will you wake up and feel energized, but a cold shower helps to increase circulation throughout the body, clean the circulatory system, reduce blood pressure on internal organs and much more!
7. Go green tea. People who drink coffee often find that the initial burst of energy feels good, but it’s not worth the crash that is sure to follow. Green tea is a healthy and natural energizer.
8. Eat a healthy breakfast. Maybe some fresh fruit, sprouted wheat bread, an organic hard boiled egg? Not only will you get the energy from these healthy foods that you need to keep your body moving, but eating breakfast is an important part of weight loss.
9. Talk to Your Plants. If you have some plants (either inside or outside), water them, touch them, smell them and talk to them. Having contact first thing in the morning with nature is grounding.
10. Make a Fashion Statement. Wear something that brings out the best in you. Something that makes you feel good, that represents the real you!
Now, are you ready to walk out into the world and enjoy another fabulous day?
Great, me too!!!

Maya Angelou taken to Los Angeles Hospital? Phenomenal Woman

A friend telephoned this morning and told me that Maya Angelou had been taken to Los Angeles Hospital. We, a group of friends, went to hear Maya speak last year. All hardcore, diehard fans, we ingested every poetic and meaningful word that she uttered.
Just in case you’d heard the same rumor, I am now happy to report that it is not true. Nevertheless, I do love Maya and I’d like to share one of poems with you.
Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Spread the word … NOT the Icing!
