Gratitude is being able to deeply appreciate all that one has without holding onto it for dear life.   I say “Thank you,” and  I let it go.

OMG Tushkateers (members of the Kick in the Tush Club) and Devotees of Our Lady of WeightLessNess (a.k.a. Our Lady of Weight Loss),  Guess what!  I am in the middle—as in sitting right smack center—of the biggest de-cluttering project ever (for me, anyway).  The contents of two large closets have been dumped on the floor; old papers, books, 1/2 baked art projects, scraps of paper, multiple pairs of scissors, old shoes, winter hats, dried up magic markers, some not-so-dry everywhere, taking up way too much space in need of trimming, slimming, sorting and tossing.

My first thought and set of feelings upon perusing this mess was a major self-pitying cry:  an “ugh” from the depths of my soul.  Too much sorting, too much tossing, too much work, too much emotional baggage attached to these articles of nothingness, how to know what to keep, what to toss…etc.

And then it dawned on me that I should be, could be, might want to consider being grateful.  Grateful that I have stuff to sort through, grateful that I have the time to sort through it.  Grateful that I have the ability to let go, which is ultimately what this is all about.

How cool is that?  How grateful am I to be able to let go of that which no longer serves me?  How grateful (and excited) am I to be able to clear the space for something new?

I say…and feel free to quote me on this:
