Once upon a time, a chubby young woman was wandering about in the Land of the Lost and Found Pounds, thinking self-deprecating thoughts when she ran into the Goddess of Forever Thin.

She said, “Hi Goddess. You are wise, and I am desperate. I want to lose weight once and for all. My triple X elastic waistband pants are tight and leaving skid marks”. (She showed her the marks.)

The Goddess asked, ”How strong is your desire to permanently remove your excess weight?”

“Hey, are you kidding? Am I not in the Land of the Lost and Found Pounds, and did I not just show you my skid marks!” she replied.

The Goddess calmly continued, “Will you plan your meals, shop for fresh fruit and vegetables, power walk around the park at least three times a week?”

“Oh, dear,” chubby young woman replied, “I just don’t have the time. I’m way too busy during the day, and I am way too tired at night.

“What personal sacrifices will you make to ensure that you will reach your goals?” asked the Goddess

“Sacrifices?” she answered.

“Until you build your ‘want power’ muscles, you will aimlessly move up and down, in and out of the peaks and valleys in the Land of the Lost and Found Pounds.” said the Goddess.

Thankfully, the Goddess of Forever Thin then handed the chubby young woman a little pamphlet to read and digest, giving her much food for thought. “The Goddess of Forever Thin’s Guide to Building Your Want-Power Muscle”

Think “I can” thoughts. Repeat after me… “I can. I can. I can.” You are starting to feel more confident, aren’t you?

Stay clear of the naysayers. You will undoubtedly find those who say, “You’ll never make it. It’s too hard. How can you live without cake 24/7?” etc. etc. etc.!

Don’t let the naysayers embed their negative thoughts into your clear mind. Smile and move on, fast.

If not now, when? You have a responsibility to yourself, first and foremost. Tomorrow never comes.
