“Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously and never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop this picture!” ~ Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
Dearest Tushkateers, How are you on this magnificent December morning (afternoon or evening)? I am super-splendido, in awe of nature, happy to have witnessed last night’s moon halo!
That’s right, T’teers, there was a major-league glorious ring around Ms. Moon that was caused by the refraction of moonlight from ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. Amazeballs, yes?!
Feed my soul; fill me up with nature! Imagine just for a moment, if you will, spending an entire day (week, month or more) appreciating the beauty around us. Never mind the daily challenges, glitches, run-ins, etc. Just set your mind to notice, to become aware of the amazing mystery of it all; the mind-bending beauty of it all.
OMG! I just inspired myself (ha!) to carry a little notebook around with me today to record at least (minimum, can exceed the number) 10 #AmazeBall moments! Or—maybe I’ll just talk into my ‘smart’ phone microphone and transcribe them later? Either way…Care to join???
Both Our Lady of Weight Loss and I can guarantee you that if you did that…focused on the beauty, the mystery of nature…your struggles with emotional eating will lessen and you will lighten up!
Speaking of lightening up and amazeballs weight loss happenings, I want to share some mind-blowing permanent weight removal news and information with you that is sure to inspire, motivate and help you on your journey to Sveltesville!
Without naming names (as my work with you and my one-on-one clients is personal and protected), two of my clients have reached major milestones this week. One, whose initials are C.W., permanently removed over 35 pounds.
Start date: July 4. Five (5) months, 21.7406 weeks, averaging 1.6 pounds per week.
Another client, whose initials are C.F., with whom I started working end-July, has permanent removed 30 pounds. Approximately 1.5 pounds per week.
Major congrats to both! I believe in you, I am so happy for you and proud of you!
Aside from practicing Our Lady of Weight Loss’s 10 Commandments of Permanent Weight Removal they STOPPED beating themselves up for food and behavior digressions; they STOPPED feeling guilty! They LET GO of any and all shameful feelings!
Now, you tell me, T’teers…has guilt or shame ever helped anyone (weight loss or otherwise)? No!
Guilt is an emotional experience that occurs when a person believes that he/she has violated a moral standard. Guilt can overwhelm us and block the rest of our emotions.
In other words, you can become so consumed with feeling guilty that you are unable to fully experience joy! When you are feeling guilty, you may not be able to sort out your feelings, which can lead to impulsive decisions and behaviors.
Seriously, T’teers. Overeating, emotional eating, overindulging in junk food is not a crime nor is it a misdemeanor. Is does not warrant negative self-talk, which only serves to erode confidence and self-esteem and eventually leads to a tsunami of defeat.
What to do? Awareness first and foremost. Note that you are feeling badly about the your food choices; about yourself. Note the thoughts, the negative self-talk, the myriad of feelings. And then…with eyes closed, click your heels together and repeat Our Lady of Weight Loss’s mantra three (3) times “All is forgiven, move on.”
If you are still feeling guilty, unhappy, stuck; if you are still beating yourself up with the shame stick, then confess your sins to Our Lady of Weight Loss and she will forgive you!
Dear Our Lady of Weight Loss,
Forgive Me for I Have Sinned
I am guilty.
On a sugar HI…
running wild through
and around, up and down
the supermarket aisles…
And sampling some more!
Breaking into boxes,
tearing open bags,
careening off track…
…there I go, forever more?
Save me, please, Our Lady of Weight Loss!
The Guilty Sampler
Dear Guilty Sampler,
All Is Forgiven, Move On!
Our Lady of Weight Loss
Got it, Tushkateers? You no longer need to carry that heavy load of guilt and/or shame around with you. There’s no need to berate, beat up, dump on, dislike, criticize, be angry with, pass judgment on yourself ever again! Lighten your load!
Good! Good! Good!
