Good Day Tushkateers! How are you on this glorious day; this most magnificent, splendid, spectacular day? Are you aware of and slowly taking in the changes? The slow yet steady, one-day-at-a-time move from summer to autumn? Are you in sync with this slow move from one season to the next? Have you noticed how many times I’ve said, “Slow?” Because that’s today’s message, from Our Lady of Weight Loss to you!
Stop creating distractions.
“Give” attention (vs. Pay attention).
Let go of the excess weight.
Imagine, if you will, that you are racing through a garden. Zoom, zoom.
Pretty flowers, sunny day … yeah, yeah, but “what about the laundry list of things that I need to do.” And there you have it – you missed the nuances of nature. You missed an opportunity to take in a deep breath and connect with your soul. You missed an opportunity to simply “Be.”
When we move too fast we block our ability for new information to enter and be processed. In other words, we block our ability to learn. We miss the nuances, the beauty and the platters full of ‘transformational moments’ that life is offering to us.
As you slow down and ‘give’ attention (more generous and loving than paying attention, don’t you think?) to one thing at a time, you will not only calm down but the tsunami of thoughts that are crashing through and washing over brain will settle down to a slow ripple.
The less distracted we are (a.k.a. more present) calmer, more peaceful and happier and even wiser and definitely more likely to make better choices (food and otherwise).
Enjoy the transition from summer to fall.
