Want to hear something funny?  Yes, of course, you do!  And yes, the funny thing will bring us to love, love, love!

My brother, whose primary residence is Dublin, told me that when he shared with his Irish friends that we were vacationing together for an extended period (close to one month), their reaction was positive!  Very positive.  “Oh, that’s lovely.”  When he shared the same info with his American friends, each and every one of them responded with hushed, incredulous tones, “Really?  How’s that going to work out?”

What an eye-opener!  As my brother shared these two vastly different reactions, I could feel the two different perspectives having an effect on my nervous system.   The “OMG, you are kidding” perspective brought up nervous, anxious feelings; deep concern.  The ‘loving’ perspective felt warm, safe and relaxing.

With that in mind, I decided to consciously move into a ‘loving’ space and create love as best and as often as I could.   Create love of self, love of others, love of bees, flowers, clouds.

When we are overflowing with loving kindness, we, in turn, feel better about ourselves, and when we are in that self-affirming, self-accepting and self-loving state; when we fill up on love, we are less likely to fill up on chips!

Today, let’s fill up on love!

Four Steps to Love
Here are some thoughts that can help you ‘move toward love’ today and every day!

1. Imagine the word “love” is sitting in your heart. Feel it.  Breathe into it. Let it move up through from your heart and into your face.  Smile, crinkly eyes and all.  Soften your gaze and let ‘love’ flow!

2. Say “IT” with Conviction! “I Love You!”
The next time you are with a friend, a lover, a family member – say ‘it’ with meaning.

3. Be “Them” Just for a Minute. I know that it’s hard to love ________ (fill in the blank!).  True, some people do make it difficult.  Try putting yourself in their shoes, just for a minute.  No excuse, I know, for ‘them’ to be acting the way they do.  Still, you take the high road.  Smile and send them love.

4. Love for Love’s Sake. Could be that love will be sent back right at ya’ – and could be that it won’t be sent back.   It could be the recipient of your loving flowing feelings isn’t open for it, is preoccupied with their stuff, who knows.  Don’t concern yourself with such matters.  Just love for love’s sake.

Spread the word … NOT the icing,
