Rise & Grind Wednesday – Don’t Should On Me!

You Really SHOULD, You know …You MUST! You, yes, you have to!
Nobody likes to be told what to do. Nobody likes to hear “You SHOULD” …”You MUST” … “You HAVE to.” And YET!!! … We are constantly telling ourselves what to do.
Think about how often the word “should” comes up in your thoughts. “I should do this; I should do that. I must do this; I must do that. I have to do this; I have to do that.” All day long, we are shouting (yes, SHOUTING) orders at ourselves.
Why is SHOULD soooooo irritating?
Perhaps understanding why the ‘should, must, and have to’s’ are so irritating might help.
They imply obligation. You agree that you ‘should,’ but you don’t ‘want to.’ So, if you do what you ‘should do,’ resentment bubbles up, and if you don’t do what you ‘should’ do, you feel guilty, bad, feelings of failure surface. A no win situation, for sure!
With regard to permanent fat removal, would it be fair to say that you may have at one time or another thought that you ‘should’ lose weight? Or that you ‘must’ reduce your size? Or that you ‘have to’ exercise … really you ‘have to!’
And I’m guessing that you are so annoyed with it all that you give up, that you go and eat a donut (or some other form of the devil’s food) to get you through the frustration or just to plain rebel.
Your Inner Rebel.
If you feel upset, bothered, aggravated or just plain peeved when the ‘should’s’ start to
come up, know that your inner rebel has been activated.
You may now want to have a different kind of dialogue with yourself. Here follow three powerful questions that will help you change your inner-dialogue!
3 Weight Loss Success Coaching Questions to Chew On.
How will your life change when you no longer obsess about food?
How will you feel when weight is no longer an issue?
What does your guilt-free, no should about it, life look like?
Spread the word … NOT the icing,

I too have always said should to myself way too much. Somewhere I heard the suggestion: try changing those shoulds to coulds. That makes it seem like, yes, it might be a good thing to do if after careful consideraton I choose to, and if I do choose to, I can! It really defuses all my shoulds.

Shoulds and must words are used for discipline.Without these strong words,no goal is achieved for they are pushing us to our limits!Sometimes, they are useful more in achieving business goals,so,it’s implication depends on our purpose and goals we set,for we don’t ever want to fail and get frustrated or disappointed later.Going beyond our limit means im making progress, and achieve my goals,so i use must and should. The Ten Commandments of God never uses must and should, lol, that’s why people sometimes ignore following God’s commands, lol.so,in these case,i wanted to add must and should,so that i avoid frustrating God’s heart, see?that makes sense using these words,Janice, lol.Ans it is useful to weight loss as well.
I have learned to use these words whenever i notice my daddy’s grumpiness sets in,lol.thanks~
