Studies in the US show that pumpkin seeds may help reduce hormone damage to the prostate, which in turn lessens the risk of developing prostate cancer. They’ve been used in certain areas of Europe to treat learning disorders. In China, pumpkin seeds are used to ward off depression, and pumpkin seed oil has been used for treatment of prostatitis.
I had yet another epiphany this morning, another revolutionary thought about ‘body image.’ I wondered what it would be like to be thankful and grateful for the parts of my body that I don’t like.

Dear Our Lady of Weight Loss, In 1992, I started working with a man named Bob, to whom I was very much attracted…..honestly. And, yes, it was mutual. Nothing came of it, as we were both married. I haven’t seen Bob in almost 15 years. At that time I was 40 years old, and weighed 125 lbs. and at the risk of sounding immodest, I was pretty darn cute. Now … fast forward … 15 years later, and I weigh 185, and at the risk of sounding pathetic, I am fat and frumpy.
