Dear Our Lady of Weight Loss ~ I am afraid that I am slipping. A bite here and there, and I’m thinking that they are adding up. Help?! ~ Slippin’
Dear Slippin’ ~ It’s important to note that while you may not be counting every little thing that goes into your mouth, your body is! Apparently, you come fully loaded with an internal calculator, and it is at work all the time.
You can’t ‘slip’ anything by your inner calculator without it being noted, even if your mind tells you that, “Licks don’t count.” -or- “Crumbs don’t count.” -or- “Eating while standing doesn’t count.”
Face it! It all counts!!!! And those tiny, little innocent bits n’ pieces of food can make the difference between losing and gaining. And while we are on the counting subject, remember that YOU COUNT! YOU MATTER. And it’s important that YOU CAN COUNT ON YOU.
And isn’t that a part of the problem, here? It’s not just about losing or gaining weight. It’s about being able to count on yourself. Give yourself a kick in the tush, step into your Weight Loss Warrior power suit (or pants or outfit of your choice), and embrace your inner-calculator that counts for you as now that that you can count on you!
