Weight Loss Tip: Thirsty? Make Sure Your Water’s Cold

KICKOL-LOGO.jpgKnowing full well that water is the healing elixir of all time, I have been on a mega-water kick, telling any and all who will listen to me that it’s important – actually crucial to drink water. Much to my delight, picked up one of my thirst quenching, fat burning water tips!!! Here it is!
Don’t sip your water. Instead, drink it fast and ice cold, says Janice Taylor, weight loss coach, author and creator of the Kick in the Tush Club, which inspires dieters to stay on track. “Eight glasses of water, spaced well through the day, gives a metabolic boost that equals approximately 25 calories per glass,” Taylor says. Your body has to put in some effort to warm that water, which leads to more calories burned.
And for those of you who are water phobic, here are some fabulous ways for you to jazz it up!
Lemons, limes, grapefruits, oranges … oh my! Serve up a large iced-pitcher of water, toss in some sliced-up citrus with a twig or two of fresh mint! And wowzer, you’ve just created an amazingly beautiful, fragrant and festive mineral water.
Fizzle Me Orange! Crack up a bottle of sparkling water a.k.a. seltzer or club soda, and mix in 2 ounces of orange juice, or any of your favorite citrus juices. Add more or less to taste.
Berry Mash-Up! Mash up blueberries or raspberries (or both) and add sparkling water. And, oh yes, if you want to add a splash of red wine to your dinner water, feel free! Am I reading your mind???
Sophisticated Savory! Grab a handful of fresh herbs from your herb garden! Infuse your water with rosemary, parsley, mint … go herb crazy!
Cucumber Fresh! Slice a half a cucumber nice and thin and add it to your iced water. It’s one of my all-time water favs … so cleansing, satisfying and spa-like!

    Good thing you provided alternatives! Because I just hate water alone. I hate drinking stuffs that is colorless and tasteless! I could only afford to drink it whenever I’m very very very very very thirsty. I like the idea of mashing up berries and mixing it up with water. That’ll definitely add up color and taste to it.     I wonder if it is a urban myth that drinking cold drinks more frequently could also increase some infections such as bladder infections.
    It appears logic that cold water will need to be warmed by your body and will therefore require additional energy, however drinking hot water such as in herbal teas, may also require your body to cool it down to body temperature which would also require extra energy. Is there any scientific evidenve for either?
