Look what the big chains – Dunkin’ Donuts, Krispy Kreme – are doing to our people? Giving out free donuts?! They’re not really free, if you get my drift! Oy Vey, it’s unbelievable.”

Super Summer Salad: Two fruits are better than one!
Interestingly enough, the two main ingredients of this super summer salad are both fruits, though they are thought by many to be vegetables.
True fruits come from the ovary in the base of the flower, and contain the seeds of the plant. Therefore, both tomatoes and avocados are fruits!
Avocado: This fruit is harvested from tall tress, which grow in groves in tropical climates such as Mexico, California, Hawaii and Florida. Its rich, pale yellow-green flesh has a smooth-buttery texture with a faintly nutty flavor.
Tomato: This fruit is a member of the nightshade or Solanaceae family, a cousin to the eggplant, pepper, potato, ground cherry, tomatillo and the highly toxic belladonna, as known as the deadly nightshade! Tomatoes come in a variety of sizes, colors and shapes. From tiny currant tomatoes to cherry tomatoes, to large tomatoes.
3 large tomatoes, chopped
3 avocados – peeled, pitted and diced
1/2 large red onion, thinly sliced
ground black pepper to taste
1/2 (8 ounce) bottle balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing (read the label and please – make a healthy choice)
In a large serving bowl, toss together the tomatoes, avocados and red onion. Sprinkle black pepper, to taste, and then gently pour (go easy) salad dressing over. Cover and chill for at least one hour before serving to blend flavors.
