BREATHE DEEP: Lose Weight

Your Breath, Your Metabolism, Your Weight by Janice Taylor, Life & Wellness Coach, Cert. Hypnotist, NLP Practitioner, Author, Columnist, Seminar Leader & 50-pound Big-Time-Loser! (write Janice for free consult)
Our weight depends on a complicated blend of variables – from how much we move (exercise), to what we eat, how much we eat, how we feel about ourselves, to hereditary factors.
Our weight is even linked to how we breathe.
Breathing can:

  1. Affect our metabolism.
  2. Affect the quantity of food we ingest.
  3. Make us feel better mentally, physically & emotionally.
  4. Calm us.
  5. Release endorphins, which help us to feel happy.
  6. Enhance our appearance.
  7. Make us feel instantly stronger and thinner.
  8. Revitalize and energize every cell in our bodies.
  9. Increase our energy level.

All of this can aid our weight loss effort. Healthy breathing helps us maintain the right balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in our cells, which has a favorable impact on our metabolism.
Jon Kabat-Zinn, University of Massachusetts Memorial Health Care Center, says “Every breath, actually, is a release not only of air, but all the pent-up energy in the body. Every in-breath can be restoration or revitalization, and every out-breath a letting-go of anxiety or anger or tension or irritability.”
Instead of stuffing down your feelings with food, breathe.
It’s natural. It’s free. And it’s easy.
Try some basic breathing!
Spread the word, NOT the icing!

What a load of garbage. You want the truth about fatness, see Junkfood Science (http://aquanet.water.ca.gov/mao/orgchrts), or read Gina Kolata’s “Rethinking Thin”, Glenn Gaesser’s “Big Fat Lies” or Paul Campos’ “The Obesity Myth.”
Believe it or not, FAT PEOPLE BREATHE, TOO!!!!
Keep pushing that self-abuse and those bigotry rituals, Janice. Meanwhile, fat people will continue to exist. We’re NORMAL, genius.

I had never really thought about how we breathe affecting the way we lose weight until I read something about it in a magazine a couple of months ago. Very interesting article, I will have to do more research on this topic, but you got me thinking anyway.
