Did you watch the Cheney Speech today? Pop Quiz: What’s bigger, Cheney’s lies or the new Beyonce Ego video? Well, since Ego is ultimately non-existent, I’ll have to go with the lies is (thankfully, oh so very very thankfully) former Vice President Cheney’s speech today. Whoppers, anyone?

It occurs to me – and I’m sort of not kidding here – that Dick Cheney’s M.O. represents everything the Buddhist teachings stand against. The message is this: Lie. If someone points out the truth, repeat the lie again, and call them a name. Rinse and repeat. And repeat. Until people accept the lie via the ignorance induced by incessant repetition. Anyone catches you in an obviously ill-conceived talking point, change the subject. Whatever you do, do not examine things directly. And at all costs, never open your heart or say you’re sorry. Remorse is for people who care about reality. Dick Cheney is the Bizarro Buddha. It’s spellbinding to watch. Here’s a good roundup of all the untruth in the Cheney Speech via Talking Points Memo.
