O Me of Little Faith

O Me of Little Faith

Are you familiar with If not, you should be. Go there now, look around, enjoy yourself, then come back here.

On my way to work a couple days ago, I ended up behind this vehicle at a stoplight. My first thought was “Fail!” So I took a grainy photo with my handy camera phone.

Happy Saturday.

One hopes he’s on his way to the tire shop after a roadside tire change…I had an INVISIBL SPARE TIRE FAIL (if I may mix my lolcats and fails) on my truck. I had a tire leaking air, and for reasons I can’t remember, I had the Walmart tire shop guys look at repairing it. The leak was too close to the sidewall, so I decided to take it to my regular tire shop to get a new pair, and asked them how much trouble it would be to just put the spare on for now.Tire guy came back with an odd look, and said “Ma’am, I can do it, but I don’t think it’s legal.” Huh? Turns out that when we bought the truck used, it came with an aftermarket spare tire. Of sorts: a studded snow tire. When I took it to the tire shop, I had them put one of the old regular tires on that wheel, and the tire guy asked what I wanted to do with the spare. He was surprised when I said I didn’t want it back. “But it’s never been used!”Aaaaand I’m going to do exactly *what* with a single snow tire, on a RWD light truck? (Besides some really impressive donuts, I guess.)

My Introvert Interview
On Monday, author Adam McHugh delivered a guest post about the "snarling 8-headed monster" of the writing process. Today I return the favor -- sort of -- via an interview at his blog, Introverted Church. We talk about how my introverted personality has impacted my faith and doubt, and how the extrov

Harold Camping: "Invisible Judgment Day"
When the rapture didn't occur as predicted on May 21, 2011, Harold Camping had a few options. Here is how he could have responded to the failed prediction, in descending levels of crazy: 1. He could announce that he was wrong. This is the most reasonable option and was therefore unexpected. I wou

The Phases of Writing (Adam McHugh)
If you've ever felt out of place among all the exciting, expressive, emotional enthusiasm of a contemporary church service...or an evangelist's demands that you need to constantly be sharing your faith boldly to strangers...if it simply wipes you out to be surrounded by people all the time,  then y
