On the Front Lines of the Culture Wars: Politically correct CNN exposes USAF Christianity

posted by

“In a breathless expose , CNN has revealed the shocking news that the U.S. Air Force has used the faith practiced by four out of five Americans to teach ethics to U.S. airmen,” reports Beliefnet’s On the Front Lines of the Culture Wars. “That just can’t be allowed in CNN’s politically correct world.”

CNN reporter Jennifer Rizzo reveals:

“In a lesson designed to teach the Air Force’s core values to ROTC cadets, Christian beliefs such as the Ten Commandments, the Sermon on the Mount, and the Golden Rule are used as examples of ethical values, CNN has learned.

I like hearing this. The airmen have the right approach. Only Christianity uses weapons correctly.

A weapon should be used for defense. and in the event needed to complete the mission. Not to create subjects and the men/women carrying out the missions need to know the truth behind the work they are doing.

Thank you leadership for accepting this truth

Bill Moyers’ program “Ethics and Religion” is very informative of how religion and ethics are intertwined. We are a Country founded on the Judeo-Christian tradition. We have laws that are directly related to the 10 Commandments: Thou shalt not kill! When the word “religion” is used, one can substitute it with “morality’.

Unfortunately the “politically correct” only adhere to extremist views of the US Constitution…they never take into account the circumstances in which the Constitution was developed. A good example of this is permitting unbridled spread of pornography but simultaneously supression of Christian Judaic values in public. One can only wonder what the authors of the constitution would have to say about this.

I’m all for being inclusive but PC just goes too far. The majority of this stuff can be easily followed by everybody with no problems. Only three of the ten commandments directly involve God after all. Though I have to wonder how they would get around that whole ‘Thou Shalt Not Kill’ thing.

What better way to train people to value others than to follow the biblical principles left to us in the scriptures. Even other religions teach the same principles from their beliefs. CNN should stick to truthful news, which we get so little of these days, not dabble in religion. They are responsible for so much rift in this world today. Their reporters are as biased as Fox who they abhor. God loves ALL people, not just Christians, or Muslims, or Buhdists.

The Hebrew is better translated “Thou shalt not murder.”

It would be nice if CNN explained precisely what is WRONG with using Christian values in teaching ethics. Obama-speak notwithstanding, we ARE a Christian nation. Our Founding Fathers were Christian. Our Founding Documents are based on Christian principles. That closet Muslim can not change the facts. Is CNN part of the conspiracy to rewrite our history to exclude any mention of Christianity?

I grew up in an era when we had civics and American government as core curriculum in grade school and REQUIRED subjects in high school. I have no idea where or when these turkeys went to school.

I think it would be great if the news casters would stop putting their two cents in when it comes to christianity. Evidently none of them would stand up for JESUS because they are actually cowards and afraid of losing all of the MONEY and Monitory things they have. I know what it is like to be told in your job to do something that is not honest or ethical did I do it NONONO!! I don’t think any of them will ever see Jesus.

Why should it be a shock to see the Ten Commandments being used. This “United States of America” was founded in “God We Trust”. They can have all the other false God’s, but we are not allowed to have the real God. That is what is going wrong with a lot of our Country. We took Prayers out of School and look at how some are so disrepectful and unaware of leadership. In Jesus name, I will be Praying for all!

LATELY CNN REPORTING IS VERY BIASED – WILL NEVER LISTEN TO CNN ON TV OR ANYWHERE -

As said by others-this country was founded on Christian principles and this form of teaching has worked well for years. I am so tired of the news media interference on what they think is polictially correct. Allow us as Americans to think intellectually and make decisions on our own. Quit trying to influnece us by injecting your opinions–report the news.

I cannot believe that we have become so disensetized that we are nitpicking as to where the good teachings of morality and core values that the military instills in our young soldiers come from. I bet if those teachings came from a devil worshipping cult, then there would not be so much contraversy about it. Apparently christian beliefs have become the minority while every other group gets to have a say so in this God forsaken politically correct world we have trapped ourselves in. CNN has done some real nasty and bias reporting before, however this is sounds more to be like a witch hunt rather than reporting. This country was founded on Christian principles. So far we have managed to survive many catastrophies because of those principles.

We need to learn moral values and if anything will help them God will. Why does the media be so quick to condemn Christianity and moral values. As said before every other religion has been able to speak up and nothing is said or done but a Christian cannot pray in public or have God in any public meetings. Let the Christian’s stand up and be counted. The Golden Rule, Sermon on the mount and Ten Commandments should be a way of life for every religion.

What a stupid waste of time. Why don’t you focus on all of the lack of ethics and integrity in all of the policians in DC,
paying themselves $ 174,000 in salary plus self designed benefits. Let’s see some exposure as to why there is no looking at the excessive cost of policicians as ways to cut the budget? We are now the land of the rich, by the rich and for the rich…the rest of us are just out of luck

I didn’t read the whole story as I think it is disgusting that CNN or anyone else has the gall to take the Ten Commandments and Sermon on the Mount their business of the Air Force Academy. They should be on their knees and thank God they believe and have faith in what this country was founded. Before they die, they may want someone to pray with them or if one of their family members get sick. I pray for all those and especially those who think they are greater and smarter than God. Could any of you come up with something as great as our oceans, stars, moon, sun, or the beautiful mountains. I do pray you coome to your senses before it is too late.
    God bless you all anyway.

What’s wrong with church today? Are we in danger of turning worship into a flashy concert? Of watering down the message so nobody is offended? Of forgetting the simplicity of the Gospel? I grew up with a preacher’s kid. He was a fake following in the footsteps of his flimflamming father who d
