German Catholics Cope with Abuse Crisis

In video interviews, a Wall Street Journal reporter explores how German Catholics are struggling to separate their faith from the institution that they believe has mishandled the crisis.Video courtesy of the Wall Street Journal.

Haven’t played the video yet, but just looking at the picture….my first thought, was Benny, saying” and now for my first trick….”

It’s a damning video. In particular they point out then-Cardinal Ratzinger/now-Pope Benedict either new a convicted pedophile had been reassigned to work with children in his diocese or he should have known. They also point out that in Germany the RCC (and I suppose other churches) get money from taxes, and the fewer registered RC’s the less for the RCC, and a lot of RC’s are quitting the RCC.
But in general I hope B’net will stick with print journalism here so we don’t have to spend so much time listening and transcribing, or trying to.
