I tend to avoid the news because it can be so depressing and upsetting, but, every once in awhile, a news piece will make me smile. Today I read about Peter Shankman who, after a very long day of travel, was on a flight feeling oh-so-hungry and he did exactly what I would have done in that situation. He told the world. He’s a social media addict, too, and so he tweeted, “Hey @Mortons–can you meet me at Newark airport with a porterhouse when I land in two hours? K, thanks.:) ”

The part that really makes me smile, though…is that an associate of Morton’s steakhouse *did* show up at the airport with a steak (and sides) even though the airport was 20 minutes away from the closest Morton’s.  Sure….it was a publicity stunt (and it worked!)…but it was also just plain NICE.

And it makes me happy.
