I saw your comment about the villagers with torches got a lot of play in the financial press. Apparently the language of movies resonates with a lot of audiences where the language of accounting would fall on deaf ears.

I was watching NBC nightly news when your face flashed up there. Hea, I think I know that lady, I said to myself. Then your name appeared. Very well said there. I have my torch fired up anytime you’re ready.
I keep checking back here for some Halloween season material. I’m always a fan of scary movies this time of year. Did you notice that Turner Classic Movies is running Blood Feast and 2000 Maniacs on Halloween night, albeit late Halloween night? That was a bit of a surprise to see such gory movies playing on general access cable.

Thanks, Big Dave! I hope you enjoyed my Halloween list for kids — and keep an eye out for some thoughts on horror films today.

The Maze Runner
Yes, it's another dystopic YA trilogy (actually, there's a fourth volume, a prequel), and yes, only a teenager with fabulous cheekbones can save the day. But "The Maze Runner" is not a lesser repeat. It is a worthy addition to the genre, an absorbing drama with surprising turns and even more surpris
