Lynn v. Sekulow

A Season of Change?

posted by Jay Sekulow

Barry,

You?   One of “Satan’s imps” ???    No way.  More like a….witty, fearless – yet misguided – member of the Religious Left.

Barry, no one is trying to redefine those precious terms of “liberty” and “freedom.”  Why is it when conservative Americans step forward and express concerns about the direction the country is taking – demanding more family-friendly and pro-life policies – there’s a rush by you and others to marginalize their concerns?

The truth is most Americans don’t agree with President Obama or his policies.  And nearly half of the country disapproves with the way he is handling his responsibilities at the White House.

Even President Obama is having trouble keeping the support of his Democratic base.  In his new book, Bob Woodward documents how the President views the war in Afghanistan and said the President decided to set a timetable for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan because, he said, “I can’t lose the whole Democratic Party.”

And, at a recent town hall meeting, President Obama got an earful from a young woman, a supporter, who said she has had enough.  Velma Hart was brutally honest:  “I’m exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change that I voted for, and deeply disappointed with where we are right now.”

Velma Hart is not the only person who is deeply disappointed with where we are right now.  That is exactly why there is such a call to action this political season; social conservatives, Tea Party supporters, and many others who don’t neatly fit into a political category want change.

While there are many issues, here’s a couple worth noting.  Most Americans believe the President’s health care plan, which is being challenged by us and others on constitutional grounds, fails the nation.

And, the President’s attack on Arizona’s immigration law – a sound measure to protect that state’s borders and citizens – has gone from the U.S. Courts to the United Nations.  I guess the President isn’t satisfied with a legal challenge that will be heard by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in November – a case where we represent members of Congress in defending the AZ law.

No, the President has made this an international assault against AZ.  In what can only be described as an unprecedented move, President Obama’s Department of State listed the AZ law as an example of human rights violations in this country – a report that was filed with the U.N. Human Rights Council, which harbors some of the world’s most blatant human rights offenders.

There’s a lot of angst and anxiety in this country right now.  I know you want to blame conservative Christians for that.  With the election fast approaching, it’s my guess the chorus for change will grow louder – and it won’t only be Christian conservatives who sound the alarm.

Jay,
The reason many of us ‘blame conservative Christians’ for the ills of our country is because conservative Christians are all too often part of the problem and rarely, if ever, part of the solution.
How Christ-like is it to openly discriminate on the basis or race or sexual orientation, to deny healthcare to the least among us, to encourage meaningless and deadly wars, or to support the death penalty(to name a few)?
If that’s being conseravtive Christian you can keep it.

“encourage meaningless and deadly wars”??? Are you kidding me????
The freedom, safety, and rights that you enjoy here in the United States today were fought, and paid with the blood and lives of many soldiers. Have a little respect for the lives that have been sacrificed for our country, so that YOU may continue to enjoy the benefits of your secured freedom.

The freedom, safety, and rights which are enjoyed in America today were not furnished in any way by our imbecilic invasion of Iraq. The respect to our soldiers should be given by those with the power to send them into such meaningless and deadly wars.

There was a bank robbery in Florida. Bank robbery is a federal crime. It is an FBI problem.
Yet, there is no complaint of poaching — that local police trespassed on federal authority to enforce the law against bank robbery.
Just over a month t’go before REAL change takes place. Historic change t’correct the ’08 vote, then make further correction in ’12.

And another thing… it basically says that being homosexual is an abomination…
And remember he burned that whole town down based on their sinful nature, let alone buried the whole planet in water when it came to the flood…

The Arizona law says that there must be a legal stop, detention, or arrest, first, and, then, from there, an officer may, or may decide not to, investigate further, using objective standards used in all enforcement of the law.
The “legal stop, detention, or arrest,” must be based on probable cause — that is, objective, verifiable evidence of illegality.
SCOTUS has already ruled [Muehler v Mena] that, once somebody has legally been stopped, detained, or arrested, a local, law enforcement agent may investigate immigration status, that mere questioning does not constitute a seizure.
In Gonzales v City of Peoria [AZ], the Ninth Circuit ruled that localities may enforce immigration law. The First Circuit, in 09-1149, agrees.
Questions?

Just a minute.. I’m clicking my heels together three times.. come on, Toto, it’s time to follow the yellow brick road, the Wizard of God is waiting for us.. time for the lion-hearted to journey to Oz ! Mercy ! All of this anti-Christian rhetoric is like a broken record. A real Christian says the name of Jesus freely and comfortably.. no need for hesitation or reluctance, when His love is living inside of your heart. Jesus becomes your non-conditional best friend, not some mysterious concept, or vaguely known shrouded historial figure. God is like a wizard, actually, in the miraculous sense, yet more of a real father to those of us who have a personal relationship with Him. Being a true Christian is never carefree, nor fairy tale-like. It is intensely trying at times. Christianity commands continual truth and courage. No fairy tale there. The gate to heaven is narrow, because many will abandon their faith in God, as others ridicule and mock His very existence.. and that of His Son, Jesus. It isn’t difficult to believe the gate is narrow, while watching the chaos of a bitter world suspended in perpetual turmoil.. and reading such jaded comments.. understanding some here are not Christians, probably have never been.
Sorry, I digress.. seeing people dismissing God is almost enough to sidetrack one from Jay’s remarks here, which I am in agreement with. I think some of us are spiritually aware, and know who the real scarecrow is, lol. I’m also praying for you, Jay, as Jordan indicated you haven’t been feeling well, on your radio broadcast today.. so may the Lord send His merciful compassion and healing to you, Jay.

The bible he is referring to is the English one. Probably a derivative of the one published in 1611. And let’s see, the math should be easy even for you to count on how long after the death of the radical socialist named Jesus. If you can’t count that high, and your minister isn’t picking up to give you the answer we can all agree it was a long time.
So without any first hand accounts all that was left were a myriad of disjointed text written and collected for a few thousand years. Then these questionable “historical documents” were translated from Greek, Latin and Hebrew. How many of you speak those languages?
I would bet no one, including me that has posted to this article’s comment stream.
So, although this was a discussion about the repression of civil rights for some skewed view based on Hispanic rasism, the comments have devolved into a biblical validity debate which I find a bit entertaining.
Specifically, with a different civil rights issue, homosexuality.
With the help of not only his own Jewish sources, but also those of Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Latin Rite linguists and scholars, plus an LDS (Mormon) Biblical Languages student at Emory University, Rabbi Gershon Steinberg-Caudill has also been able to study original translations of the Hebrew, Greek and Latin texts.
This serious study has also involved reviewing the various Biblical manuscripts and translations, Talmudic responsa texts and other materials of a collateral nature to the subject matter being studied; i. e. history, anthropology, archaeology, philology, etymology, etc. It has required, often times, an attempt to reconstruct the ancient mindset of the pre-Babylonian conquest (586 BCE) Israelite people.
As a result of this serious research, Rabbi Steinberg-Caudill is completely convinced that THE ORIGINAL HEBREW TEXTS OF THE TORAH (the Hebrew Chumash – the Five Books of Moses) HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO SAY CONCERNING HOMOSEXUALITY AS WE UNDERSTAND THE TERM “HOMOSEXUALITY” TO MEAN IN TODAYS WORLD!
My point?
If your “Christ-like” discrimination agains humans is manufactured by man, then your “devine” world view is corrupt and dangerous.
Not sure if your pastor has mentioned this but Atheists read, it is a big reason we are no longer members of the religion we were told to believe in by our parents and family.

Except that the “sodomite” verses in Leviticus are reiterated in Romans; God’s proscribing “homosexuality” has not been rescinded.
Not only that, the Word of God refers only to man, as husband, and woman, as his wife. There is no Godly same-sex marriage in the Word of God. There is no Godly same-sex sexual attraction in the Word of God.
So, any notion of discrimination against those who claim to be homosexual is manufactured by the ungodly.

Your analogy originated from the radical, extremist ‘religious’ ‘right’ in America. It is not applicable to Rev. Lynn, but it has been applied to “the other” many times in attempts to demonize them.
This is beneath you.

“There’s a lot of angst and anxiety in this country right now. I know you want to blame conservative Christians for that.”
That would be because they are the ones promulgating the lies. “Death panels” anyone? Obama is a Muslim, anyone? Birthers anyone?
Perhaps if the ‘right’ stopped lying about their President, that angst and anxiety would abate somewhat.

Ow, extreme religious right people,
Is that what you call people that believe the Bible..
Or are you referring to the people which go and hate people who are not Christian’s , that would not be a Christian thing to do…
Hebrews 12: 16
See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.
Leviticus 18: 5-
Keep my decrees and laws, for the man who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord.
6
” No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the Lord.
7
” Do not dishonor your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is your mother; do not have relations with her.
8
” Do not have sexual relationjs with your father’s wife, that would dishonor your father.
9
” Do not have sexual relations with your sister, either your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether she was born in the same home or elsewhere.
10
” Do not have sexual relations with your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter; that would dishonor you.
11
” Do not have sexual relations with the daughter of your father’s wife, born to your father; she is your sister.
12
” Do not have sexual relations with your father’s sister; she is your father’s close relative.
13
” Do not have sexual relations with your mother’s sister, because she is your mother’s close relative.
14
” Do not dishonor your father’s brother by approaching his wife to have sexual relations; she is your aunt.
15
” Do not have sexual relations with your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife; do not have relations with her.
16
” Do not have sexual relaitons with your brother’s wife; that would dishonor your brother.
17
” Do not have sexual relations with both a woman and her daugher. Do not have sexual relations with either her son’s daugher or her daughter’s daugher; they are her close relatives. That is wickedness.
18
” Do not take your wife’s sister a s a rival wife and have sexual relations with her while your wife is living.
19

22
” Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.
23
” Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.
24
” Do not difile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out b3efore you became defiled.
25

Just cuz it’s in the Word doesn’t mean that God is saying it, nor that God is saying it to everybody about everybody. There are statements that are true and not true, and there are statements OF Truth. Where God quotes statements by the Devil, the Devil’s statements are not true, but God’s saying what the Devil says IS true; the fact of His statement is true; His report is true.

The most prosperous, nations on earth who enjoy the greatest protections of human rights are based upon Christianity. To say otherwise is simply a lie!

Wow, what a load of drivel, “America was great when it followed the precepts of the Bible”. You imply that the 60’s was some sort of turning point. Yep, wasn’t it great when we had all those Christian Jim Crow laws and separate drinking fountains?
You implore us to look at what has happened since the 60’s. Okay, let’s do that:
-We have expanded civil rights and are slowly but surely bringing about an end to race-based discrimination.
-We have made monumental strides in technology and science
-We are slowly abandoning primitive prejudices against women and gays
-We now provide more needed social services than ever before
-We no longer tolerate and condone using the public school system as a vehicle for inculcation into religious cults
– Women are now welcomed into the work force
-Our standards of health care are some of the best on the planet
I don’t know what America you are wistfully pining for, I was around in the 50’s, I like it much better now. If you think pre-60’s America was some crime-free Elysian paradise, you had best try to relocate reality.

Despite the rough sees the storm calms and I see the horizon of light to get to the otherside….
It was funny the other day, I wrote what was the scripture, Look to the hills to which cometh your help, and I asked God, exacly what about looking to the hills is going to help….?
In fact I have asked him that several times…
So, sure enough, when I had, had just about enough and didn’t really understand what God was doing in all of this or had even become angry at him to the point to wonder if he cared…
Went for my usual walk down below my house and cut through the street, to which I expected to see somebody I reckon and had a converstation… I don’t know, he might have been with somebody else I reckon…, painful to my dismay..
I looked to the hills to which cometh my help, sure enough, there was a rainbow shot down out of the clouds, and I instantly knew that God knew where I was and what I was going through… no rain…just a rainbow in the heavens on top of a mountain..
Then I thought well that was just a God thing which happens ever so often to let you know he fufills your promises.. and then I walked up the hill to my house,…. and saw one more rainbow shooting down to a different hill , not an arch , just a rainbow coming straight down to the hill again….
So, what I reckoned from this is, that God cares and he knows what is happening, and he does not take back his promises.. , and yes some of those promises can be a long time in coming, and some of them instantly……C

And, in all his knowledge, Science, logic, reason and empiricism, he cannot begin to perceive what it is that he is missing, and what it is that his Science, logic, reason, knowledge and empiricism are missing. He never mentions WISDOM. That’s cuz Science doesn’t pretned to have wisdom. Logic doesn’t have wisdom. Reason doesn’t have wisdom. Knowledge doesn’t have widsom. We must GET wisdom to temper knowledge, logic, reason, Science and empricism. Rich and the others of his kind don’t mention “wisdom” cuz it ain’t in their vocab cuz it ain’t in the vocab of their knowledge, Science, logic, nor empricism. They, like robots, “think” that they can “syllogize” — if I may coin a word — their way outta everything without even the hint of a Moral component. They never say anything about the wisdom of doing this, or that, only THAT is can be done, and, so, “Gee, why not?” Then, they reject any Moral response cuz they don’t recognize Morality and Wisdom. They cannot recognize Morality and Wisdom cuz they reject God and His Son in Whom Morality and Wisdom originate.

Cara, that is one-a the most insightful posts I’ve seen from you. It’s quite good.
[RE: Matthew 14:25-33; Matthew 4:37-41; Luke 8:23-25]:
You don’t have-ta wait for the storm to calm before you “see” the horizon. Faith causes you to “see” beyond the storm to the horizon you KNOW is there. You got faith cuz you got the Wisdom of God through His Word, and, cuz He performed/performs His Promises that you WILL “see,” well, you “see.” He cleared up your vision with His Word [John 15:3]. He doesn’t clear the vision and hearing of those who reject Him, and, so, they cannot see, cannot hear. They don’t “see” the horizon, and, so, that’s why you see those people writing the things they do. All negative and downcast, mean and angry.
2 Corinthians 1:20 — If you ask Him according to His Will and not amiss [James 4:3], He answers ALL your prayer, “YES!” If the answer is , “No,” it’s cuz you prayed amiss. In any case, in the spiritual, all prayer is answered immediately. It may take some time to manifest cuz even He must arrange things such that, if the prayer is according to His Will, the answer CAN be manifested.
Even the heathen can be used to your benefit, but not to his, for Romans 8:28, 1 Corinthians 1:18, 2 Corinthians 4:3; the heathen doesn’t partake of the Blessing you get through God’s use of him which should be REMEMBRANCE [Jonah 2:7].

What exactly is the misguided religious right..
For the left they seem to refer to people who are Christian’s as that..
So what I find pathetic is the misguided individuals who treat sin as nothing to even get concerned with… Meaning they can do anything they want and hurt anybody they want… and then just say they can do what they want to do… and then show up like they didn’t even hurt a fly.
This I find completely pathetic in regards to the Church.. When the Church proclaims to be of light and then they act of darkness in the light and then act like you are the people with the problem..
How confusing is that… So, I don’t look to heads of churches for leadership anymore, I found them to be just as sinful as the rest of the world the only difference is that they put a whole bunch of God words into the mix.. , to further complicate it they reference scripture in it , to further disguise their disgusting sinful nature..
As they drive off in their mercedes… Don’t get me wrong… there is nothing wrong with driving a mercedes if you are doing the Lord’s work.. I find it pathetic when they tried to slam dunk me like I was a left over piece of spinach on a plate of a Sunday meal. I know I love the Lord and I know that God is faithful… , but don’t profess to be saintly if your doing darkness and you act like your light…C
p.s.
There is nothing more confusing then those who profess sin as light, and light as sin….!

And who are you Mr. Incredible…??
Mr. Incredible says:
I’m just, praise the Lord! little ol’ me in the Phoenix Tetropolis.
It’s not safe, on the Internet, to let you in on all the secrets; but I’m not anybody you know…prob’ly. Although I used to be in radio [news anchor/editor/producer/writer] in southern California, Arizona, New Mexico [teevee booth announcer, too, when it was done live] and Chicago [staff announcer]. In the military, I was a network staff announcer at the American Forces Network, Europe [Frankfurt], a disc jockey [local Frankfurt] and AFN, Stuttgart [disc jockey]. So, in a way, I’m affiliated with the same industry YOU’re in.
I got tired of the politics in radio/teevee, and I’m not interested in feeding fat egos that are overweight [and I won’t do it here, or anywhere, either]. So, I went into aviation as a pilot. The rules in aviation are structured, cut’n’dried. It’s this way, or you’re dead, and that’s that.
“Mr. Incredible” is a superhero, Bob Parr, in The Incredibles. He and his superhero family are accused of destroying “too much” in the name of saving. They are bannished to the suburbs, there to blend in according to the world’s standards, leaving evil to prowl ever more.
Suddenly, they are called into action, and, in the end, are praised for doing what needs be done, the citizenry repenting for marginalizing them.
Look closely, and you’ll see that it is the story of Christians, as, say, atheists would have them — incapacitated, marginalized. I’m lettin’ them know that I will not be incapacitated, nor marginalized. Nobody who is born again is incapacitated, nor marginalized, IF they do what the Lord tells them to do [Romans 8:1 KJV; Amos 3:3]. IF they DO the Word, not just hear Him, they will be superheroes and superheroines. As a superhero, I am protected by His Power, and every hurtful, meanspirited thing these atheists and other secularists say just bounces off me, doesn’t land. No impact whatsoever. Before faith, it wasn’t so. After faith, their c r a p doesn’t even get through.
Cara says:
Truth brings all things into the light, it does not hide behind a title…?
Mr. Incredible says:
Of course, as a messenger of God — all those who are born again are His messengers, if they are doing the job — I bring the Truth of His Word Which is bigger than I am and any title I post. The job of bringing His Truth is bigger than any job.
Cara says:
P.s and that is what I meant by protecting your ears fromt he worlds faith, although I have seen a lot of so called Christian’s who profess to have God’s will as their intent, when you find out it is only their selfish sin they are trying to manifest through their mouth which is the opposite of God’s intent…

And focus on the better things in life which God has to offer wrather than be disappointed by people, situations and places and things…
I find the worst sinners are those who project while they have not considered the pain while they are the culprits in the infliction.

The problem, in my mind is the attempts of the right to equate their economic and military policies with religion.
Yes its true that many dont support President Obama but that is not surprising given the amount of false and misleading and frightening misinformation the right wing has put forth. (Death panels, Socialism Communism, Marxism, secret armies, internment camps, foreign born, anti American, secret Muslim and anti white. and more just for openers)
That is destructive enough in itself but what I see Jay and others as doing is to adopt right wing economic talking points and cloth them in the garments of religion. In other words claim that “God is on their side and decent God loving people who follow Gods word recognize that the stimulus and the health care plan are against Gods wishes.”
Conservatives talk about “family friendly policies” yet you offered nothing to reform the health insurance industry and blocked any reform. You talk about Gods will yet support torture and wars for questionable purposes. You say you are concerned about families and deficits yet blocked a tax break unless it also includes breaks for the upper 1%.
Now all this is in keeping in line with the basic economic ideas of the conservatives that its the rich that need more money and if that is what you believe then go ahead and promote these ideas. My problem with you Jay and others like you is that you think God is on your side in supporting these policies and that anyone with a different approach is anti God, anti family and anti American.

Mr. Incredible says:
Won’t happen. Not necessary. The problem is that businesses and those who have money to put at risk are taxed so much that they cannot apply that money to equipment and hiring. If the Bush tax cuts expire, that situation will get worse after the first of the year. If the Democrats have their way, they will expire.
Charlie says:

Mr. Incredible says:
Well, we’re glad that you show your hand, that you want Democrats not to be part of the solution, rather to continue the problem. For you, and Democrats, it’s a matter of “get back,” rather than go forward.

Mr incredible have you been living here the last two years or on the dark side of the moon?
For you to say that Democrats.. “do not want to be part of the solution, rather to continue the problem. For Democrats, it’s a matter of “get back,” rather than go forward”…. shows me you are totally oblivious to the Republican campaign of fear and misinformation and continual filibuster that has taken place during the last two years.
Republicans have spread lies about death panels in the health care bill and forced euthanisia of grandma and false info about Obama’s place of birth and religion and accused him of being a Marxist Socialist, hating America and continually compare him to Hitler. Dont deny this!
Does all this sound like a party interested in working toward a solution or spreading hate and fear? Democrats have tried to be bi-partisan even to the extent of alienating their own base, giving up on single payer and making Medicare available to all, but not a single Republican reciprocated with any ideas of their own. In fact republicans made it clear from the beginning their goal was not reform but obstruction for political gain. Name me one contribution they made toward health care reform.
Its pretty obvious to me that Republicans want to tank the economy and ride the resulting turmoil to power. They want to destroy the house so they can rule over the ruins and although I am sure you will deny that, the mean spirited campaign of hate and fear and closet racism they have conducted speaks otherwise. And you think that is honestly trying to find a solution to todays problems?? You think Republicans leaders like Beck and Palin are honest decent folks??? and not outright liars making millions spreading fear and misinformation?
Here is your record of achievements which you apparently want to go back to. Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest did not produce the growth he predicted on several occasions and your mantra of business deregulation led us into the current financial disaster.. But of course, you feel that the real problem with America is the rich dont have enough money so you want to return to those very policies that benefited the rich while destroying the middle class. The gulf between the rich and the middle class is higher than ever but Republicans insist we must give more to the richest and cut support for the middle and lower classes.
You complain about government loans to businesses. Those loans you disparage saved American businesses and jobs and are being repaid unlike the unfunded wars you so eagerly supported and the deficits you cared not a bit about when Bush was President
Republicans are holding up tax cuts for everyone over a two percent increase on the very people who benefited most from the policies of the last thirty years especially during the Bush era. This tax break for the rich is estimated to cause a additional 750 billion dollar deficit. Where is your concern about that?
And your final statement about doubting how Republicans would react to Christ in disguise making those statements about the rich shows how out of touch you really are.

Anyways, during the Bush years, Democrats said that the filibuster is a legitimate way to do business, to the point of denying the representatives of the People the Right to vote directly on issues before them. So, if it was good then, it’s good now. Don’t like it, huh?

Mr. Incredible says:

Charlie says:
… and continually compare him to Hitler. Dont deny this!
Mr. Incredible says:
We don’t deny that YOU people compared George Bush to Hitler, too. It was constant bashing. How do you like your own medicine?
Charlie says:
Does all this sound like a party interested in working toward a solution or spreading hate and fear?
Mr. Incredible says:
It doesn’t sound any more like it than it did during the Administration of George Bush, when YOU people continually and continuously insulted him, blocking his appointments and standing in HIS way.
Charlie says:
Democrats have tried to be bi-partisan…
Mr. Incredible asks:
Say, you gotta ocean-view lot in Las Vegas you wanna sell me?
“Bipartisan” means, to the Democrat, submitting to the Democrat agenda.
Charlie says:
… even to the extent of alienating their own base…
Mr. Incredible says:
Good.
Charlie says:
… giving up on single payer and making Medicare available to all, but not a single Republican reciprocated with any ideas of their own.
Mr. Incredible says:
They did, but YOU people conveniently missed them.
Charlie says:
In fact republicans made it clear from the beginning their goal was not reform but obstruction for political gain.
Mr. Incredible asks:
Where did they say that? Or is that the interpretation YOU chose?
Charlie says:
Name me one contribution they made toward health care reform.
Mr. Incredible says:
It’s a matter of record, and I’m not gonna republish the record of the past two years, a record you reject anyway. You go look for it yourself.
Charlie says:
Its [sic] pretty obvious to me…
Mr. Incredible says:
It’s good that you take responsibility for your own conclusions that you’ve dreamed up.
Charlie says:
… that Republicans want to tank the economy…
Mr. Incredible says:
Again, you forget that Democrats hold vast majority power in Congress and the control The White House. They can do anything they want. Whatever they’ve done so far is what’s tanking the economy. We will fix that next month.
Charlie says:
…and ride the resulting turmoil to power.
Mr. Incredible says:
The turmoil is of Democrats’ own doing. They said they would fix everything, and, instead, they have wrecked everything. We will clean that up, starting next month.
Charlie says:
They want to destroy the house…
Mr. Incredible says:
The Democrats have done a fine job of that themselves. Next month, we start to rebuild the house.
Charlie says:
… so they can rule over the ruins…
Mr. Incredible says:
The ruins left by the Democrats.
Charlie says:
… and although I am sure you will deny that…
Mr. Incredible says:
Of course, you make outrageous statements, and you think, by saying that, you can diminish what I say to deny those outrageous statements. However, no matter what you say, Independents and Republicans, thanks to the Democrats, have switched to Conservative. That will translate next month. It will translate in 2012.
Charlie says:
… the mean spirited campaign of hate and fear and closet racism they have conducted speaks otherwise.
Mr. Incredible says:
BS.
Charlie says:
And you think that is honestly trying to find a solution to todays [sic] problems??
Mr. Incredible says:
REMINDER: The Democrats hold the vast majority in Congress. They “own” The White House. By virtue of that, they can do anything they want. They’ve had the chance for two years. It’s a miserable bunch of creeps we’re throwing out next month.
Charlie says:
You think Republicans leaders like Beck and Palin are honest decent folks???
Mr. Incredible says:
ABSOLUTELY!!
Charlie says:
… and not outright liars…
Mr. Incredible says:
Not liars, outright, nor otherwise.
Charlie says:
… making millions…
Mr. Incredible says:
WELCOME TO AMERICA!
Charlie says:
…spreading fear and misinformation?
Mr. Incredible says:
They tell the truth that YOU people don’t like to hear. That’s too bad. You’re gonna hear more of it.
Charlie says:
Here is your record of achievements which you apparently want to go back to. Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest did not produce the growth he predicted on several occasions and your mantra of business deregulation led us into the current financial disaster.
Mr. Incredible says:
Not true.
The tax cuts WOULD have produced the growth, had 9/11 not happened. Not only that, in the mid-90s, Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd and Bill Clinton promoted “homes for everybody,” even if they couldn’t afford them. In 2003, George Bush warned of the coming, subprime/mortgage crisis. John McCain offered legislation to regulate the mortgage-lending industry. Barney Frank said that the mortgage-lending industry needs no regulation. Those are the causes of our financial difficulties today.
Charlie says:
But of course, you feel that the real problem with America is the rich dont have enough money…
Mr. Incredible says:
They are being taxed to death so that they can’t put their money at risk investments. Investments help companies buy equipment and hire people. Take away their money, and they can’t buy equipment and hire people. They are now waiting for the taxes to go up the first of the year. So, they’re not buying equipment and they’re not hiring people. It’s as simple as that.
Charlie says:
… so you want to return to those very policies that benefited the rich while destroying the middle class.
Mr. Incredible says:
The middle class doesn’t create jobs by putting their money at risk.
Charlie says:
The gulf between the rich and the middle class is higher than ever…
Mr. Incredible says:
So?
Charlie says:
… but Republicans insist we must give more to the richest…
Mr. Incredible says:
So they can invest. They don’t keep the money in their pockets. Money in their pockets does them no good.
Charlie says:
…and cut support for the middle and lower classes.
Mr. Incredible says:
Where did you learn that, in Communist class?
Charlie says:
You complain about government loans to businesses.
Mr. Incredible says:
They are short-term. They do nothing for the long-term.
Charlie says:
…Those loans you disparage saved American businesses…
Mr. Incredible asks:
When the loans run out, what happens then?
When people who have the money invest, it’s for the long term. A loan is short-term, and, as we all have seen, companies will not invest on short-term. Investment is not a one-time deal. Companies won’t survive on a loan they must pay back while, also, paying higher taxes.
Charlie says:
… and jobs…
Mr. Incredible asks:
And, as the loan money runs out, where you think the jobs go? Those jobs end, as we are seeing today.
Charlie says:
… and are being repaid…
Mr. Incredible says:
The banks are paying back those loans cuz they want not to be joined at the hip to the State. It’s bad business.
Charlie says:
… unlike the unfunded wars you…
Mr. Incredible says:
And the Democrats…
Charlie says:
… so eagerly supported…
Mr. Incredible says:
And the Democrats…
Charlie says:
…and the deficits you cared not a bit about when Bush was President
Charlie says:
YOU people don’t care about the crazy deficits we have today, thanks to Imam Obammy and his congressional goons.
Charlie says:
Republicans are holding up tax cuts for everyone…
Mr. Incredible says:
No, they aren’t. Democrats don’t want tax cuts for everyone, and, when taxes go up at the first of the year, everyone will suffer. We plan to preclude that next month. It’s gonna happen.
Charlie says:
… over a two percent increase on the very people who benefited most from the policies of the last thirty years especially during the Bush era.
Mr. Incredible says:
The wealthy people of the world have the money to put at risk in investment. The middle class does not. Under Capitalism, private investment is what runs the country cuz it creates, in the long-term, the atmosphere that, itself, creates jobs. We understand that Communists and Socialists don’t like that.
Charlie says:
This tax break for the rich is estimated to cause a additional [sic] 750 billion dollar deficit.
Mr. Incredible says:
The Bush tax cuts had the investment engine humming.
Charlie says:
Where is your concern about that?
Mr. Incredible says:
Whether, or not, that’s correct, it would be the same money that would be given out the businesses in loans that are short-term.
Charlie says:
And your final statement about doubting how Republicans would react to Christ in disguise making those statements about the rich shows how out of touch you really are.
Mr. Incredible says:
How do YOU know what Christ would say today?? All we know is what He said.
His statements about the rich are about the control of riches over the individual, rather than the individual having control over his riches.
So, you can’t even rightly divide the Word of Truth.

Excerpts from: The Secret Big-Money Takeover of America
by Robert Reich
Not only is income and wealth in America more concentrated in fewer
hands than it’s been in 80 years, but those hands are buying our
democracy as never before – and they’re doing it behind closed doors.
Hundreds of millions of secret dollars are pouring into congressional
and state races in this election cycle. The Koch brothers (whose
personal fortunes grew by $5 billion last year) appear to be behind some
of it, Karl Rove has rounded up other multi-millionaires to fund
right-wing candidates, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is funneling
corporate dollars from around the world into congressional races, and
Rupert Murdoch is evidently spending heavily.
No one knows for sure where this flood of money is coming from because
it’s all secret…
Credit the Supreme Court’s grotesque decision in Citizens United vs. the Federal Election Commission, which opened the floodgates. (Even though 8 of 9 members of the Court also held disclosure laws constitutional, thedecision invited the creation of shadowy “nonprofits” that don’t have to reveal anything.)
According to FEC data, only 32 percent of groups paying for election ads are disclosing the names of their donors. By comparison, in the 2006 midterm, 97 percent disclosed; in 2008, almost half disclosed.
Last week, when the Senate considered a bill to force such disclosure,
every single Republican voted against it – thereby revealing the GOP’s
true colors, and presumed benefactors. (To understand how far the GOP
has come, nearly ten years ago campaign disclosure was supported by 48
of 54 Republican senators.)
Maybe the Disclose Bill can get passed in lame-duck session. Maybe the
IRS will make sure Karl Rove’s and other supposed nonprofits aren’t sham political units. Maybe pigs will learn to fly.
In the meantime we face an election that marks an even sharper turn
toward plutocratic capitalism than before – a government by and for the rich and big corporations — and away from democratic capitalism.
As income and wealth has moved to the top, so has political power.
That’s why, for example, it’s been impossible to close the absurd tax
loophole that allows hedge-fund and private-equity managers to treat
much of their income as capital gains, subject to a 15 percent tax (even though they’re earning tens or hundreds of millions a year, and the top 15 hedge-fund managers earned an average of $1 billion last year). Why it proved impossible to fund expanded health care by limiting the tax deductions of the very rich. Why it’s so difficult even to extend George Bush’s tax cuts for the bottom 98 percent of Americans without also extending them for the top 2 percent – even though the top won’t spend the money and create jobs, but will blow a $36 billion hole in the federal budget next year.
The good news is average Americans are beginning to understand that when the rich secretly flood our democracy with money, the rest of us drown… what the public wants means nothing if our democracy is secretly corrupted by big money.
Right now we’re headed for a perfect storm: An unprecedented
concentration of income and wealth at the top, a record amount of secret money flooding our democracy, and a public in the aftershock of the Great Recession becoming increasingly angry and cynical about
government. The three are obviously related.
We must act. We need a movement to take back our democracy. (If tea
partiers were true to their principles, they’d join it.) As Martin
Luther King once said, the greatest tragedy is “not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.”
What can you do?
1. Read Justice Steven’s dissent in the Citizens United case, so you’re fully informed about the majority’s pernicious illogic.
2. Use every opportunity to speak out against this decision, and
embarrass and condemn the right-wing Justices who supported it.
3. In this and subsequent elections, back candidates for congress and
president who vow to put Justices on the Court who will reverse it.
4. Demand that the IRS enforce the law and pull the plug on Karl Rove
and other sham nonprofits.

I say we because the people working against me, at that time, started seeing progress and jumped on the bandwagon. Some of them were people hired to work with me. All in all, if you don’t know, its easy to criticize. My situation was nothing like his, but maybe some people can see the scope of his dilemma. I am not taking up for the President but I can understand.

I have a question? When people don’t have health insurance, how were you’ll planning to help them? I see someone addressing the problem?
The problem in Arizona is, this been going on dressed up as, “they look suspicious”. We say no profiling but I knoe better.

Obama is a liar.
He lies about so many things how can you trust him?
“Shovel Ready Jobs” now means there is no such thing as a ‘shovel ready’ job…
He will not raise taxes on (what was the amount again? – it depends on which news feed you are watching).
He apologizes for our wonderful country, says we are arrogant – he is arrogant – leave it to your own reflection in the mirror Obama.
The first fix for the health care problem – is tort reform – stop frivolous law suits! Second, allow interstate insurance pricing – keep the rates competitive. The answer is NOT to hire 8,000 new IRS agents to intrepret the tax implications & regulations. But that is exactly what is happening. This will not create better health care!!
Arizona has a legal right to protect its’ border. They are removing some of the red tape associated with any Federal program. Have you seen or heard about the innocent ranchers who are being murdered or taken hostage by drug lords??? I would want my U.S. property protected too!

Doris says:
You guys could not be Christians because the last I read the Bible says to respect our leaders.
Mr. Incredible says:
Except that the Word of God tells us to respect GODLY leaders.

AND THE LIGHT SHINETH IN DARKNESS; AND THE DARKNESS COMPREHENDED IT NOT.

President Obama: Does He Get It?
Barry,   I would not use that label to identify the President.  I will say, however, that President Obama continues to embrace and promote pro-abortion policies that many Americans strongly disagree with.   Take the outcome of the election - an unmistakable repudiation of the Preside
