The Meaning of Suffering

posted by Guy Finley

Are all these struggles and their suffering merely disparate circumstances, void of meaning and viscious in intent, or are these vicissitudes of life invisible structures placed before us, meant to reveal both the ladder to the heavens and the soul created to ascend it? How we answer this question determines the direction and the outcome of our individual existence.

I am tired of suffering about one thing or another. The childhood abuse sexual, emotional, mental and physical. My gambling addicted husband, who no doubt cheats on me regularly and denies it. The loss of a good friend much too soon. The way my family treats me as the scapegoat or doormat. I try to put myself in gods hands. I hate being this way. I could use some tips on how to get out of this. It all has caused me severe anxiety and depression to the point I can bearly function. I need help

Working to Free Yourself from Negative Influences
Question: I am at work sometimes as much as I am at home. How do we avoid the negative influences of others in the workplace? Answer: The whole point is not that we avoid what are unavoidable, difficult conditions, but that we recognize the discomfort we feel belongs to our own resistance to thes

Reject Soul-Destructive Energies
There are many un-illumined and downward trending parts in all of us that not only seek out their unconscious counterparts (in others) but that are secretly strengthened in the conflicted company of such dark and negative energies. We can see the truth of this strange spiritual condition by bearing
