Let Go and Outgrow Tormenting States

In moments of challenge, the tendency is to immediately resist the situation because of the pain it seems to bring with it. But, the truth of the moment is very different from this habitual perception and mechanical reaction to it.

No moment, in and of itself, is the cause of our pain. What punishes us is what we want (from that moment), and not what it seems to deny us. We can see the truth of this fact by asking ourselves a simple question: Which comes first? The dark state for feeling denied, or our unseen demand on life that first creates and then drives that negative reaction?
Whether it’s health, relationships, or some other heartache…letting go is the main theme in this life; we can either agree with the lesson, or resist it – the difference being whether we awaken to a whole new order of ourselves or suffer for nothing.
