Keep Self-Love Going Through 2013

Today is Day 31 of my 31 Days of Self-Love posts to celebrate Self-Love Month with suggestions for jump-starting your own self-love and joining The Self-Love Movement™.

Today is the last day of Self-Love Month but it’s also the first day of the rest of your life. This month hopefully began your journey into loving yourself, or loving yourself more. I hope you enjoyed giving yourself love enough to keep going. You can take the pledge again if that helps you continue to Commit to Yourself—the mantra for The Self-Love Movement™. Loving yourself can open many doors for you, including attracting more love into your life.

* Self-love attracts love from Other People.
* Self-love motivates you to take care of your health.
* Self-love makes you more attractive to people who work with you.
* Self-love builds confidence.
* Self-love attracts healthy romantic partners.

And the biggest for me: Self-love motivates you to stop being a people pleaser! I was able to leave DoorMatville once I began to love me. Why? Because I recognized that I was worthy of being treated well and to not feel obligated to do whatever people asked of me. The more I loved me, the more I set boundaries and made my own choices, not what others told me to do. I want you to reach the same kind of happy life that I have–with yourself at the helm instead of other people manipulating what you should want or do.

Maya Angelou said, “Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.

Love—for yourself and for others—is the greatest catalyst for being happy.  It’s important to take the energy of the month and run with love for the rest of the year. The more love you give yourself, the better you’ll feel. The better you feel, the more you’ll want to do for you! I implore you to take the energy of Self-Love Month and run with it! Then your life will really be yours and you’ll be happy to be in it.
