Over the past few months as people asked the question, “Why hasn’t Gonzales resigned yet?” the answer I kept hearing was two words long, “Karl Rove.”
The White House fear was that if Gonzales left all the Democrats firepower would be aimed at Karl Rove and that wouldn’t be a good thing. It isn’t the least bit surprising then that Gonzales is now gone on the heels of Rove’s resignation.
I don’t have much more to say than that. I hope that there will be healing and I hope that the president will nominate a man or a woman worthy of the job.
