YAY! A New Christian Movie!

The Freedom of Silence…

Do you think Glenn Beck is involved in the making of this movie?

So… will you go see it… uh…. I mean, order it from a Christian catalog and watch it at home?!

Thanks M for sending me this link… (You know who you are…)

Wow, Christian Persecution Porn. They’ll have to pry my Life Message Disciple’s Bible in Tru-Tone Chocodile and Raspberry, Personal Size, ESV Gender-Enhanced Version out of my cold, dead fingers. You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to find that exact version in the Holy World Bible Megastore last week.

I am a huge supporter of Freedom Of Speech and Freedom of Religion. But this is just fear mongering. It’s true that often in societies that don’t enjoy the same rights that we have, the freedom of religion and the freedom to speak about religion are the first to be taken away. But it’s also true that the number one group in which I feel as though I can’t speak freely around are the “Christians” that surround me. The same people who use fear mongering to promote their religion are the same people who will censor what they deem to be offensive. Strange, isn’t it?

The R6P logo looks like the Nickelodeon logo!

Seems predictably cheesy, but the soundtrack sounds kinda epic. Also, there was kissing and smoking in the trailer! Whoa, it’s gonna push some envelopes!

Um, don’t the people who claim to love the Bible also support torturing people perceived as a threat to our society?

Maybe I’m alone in my thinking but the Bible getting banned might be a good thing. Christians might spend less time huddling up studying it and more time doing what it says.

Based on the trailer alone that film could end up being the worst movie ever made.

Ugh…well there’s blood…a gun to the head…torture…yup…run of the mill apocalyptic Christian BS…

This is the reason I’m in graduate school for theatre…so I don’t have to do church drama and get involved in crap like this.

I appreciate my freedoms and rights. But I do not see the correlation between knowing the Bible fully and keeping my freedoms and rights in America. The more I study the Bible the more I am being convinced to lay down my rights for others.
I also find it interesting how the narrator states we have lost touch with what the Bible says and do not have the skills to defend against those who state it is a myth. The real issue created by Biblical illiteracy is the church’s ignorance of her mission and the blending of Christianity with Americana–which this movie seems to be doing.

The only word that comes to mind is backasswards. It seems to me that us liberals are trying to keep free access to all books including the bible. The “christian” right is always putting down the ACLU, but we (I am a card carrying member) are fighting for the rights that this movie is saying are being taken away.

We need to protect all information. I may not agree with what a particular book says but I will oppose anybody that tries to burn it!

Here’s a newsflash, nobody in America is trying to take away your bible and if anyone tries it will be the liberals that will be standing shoulder to shoulder with the fundies to stop them.

Has anyone seen/heard of the anti-abortion movie “Come What May?” I haven’t but I work in a Christian bookstore and have seen the trailer 982 times and they use the EXACT SAME MUSIC in that trailer. I will say that it’s put to much better use here though, as there is actually something going on other than opening doors and taking notes in class.

I work at a movie theater, and won’t even waste my weekly free movie on this one (if it is out for major release). It seems like the same propaganda made by some news networks…As I’ve told many people I know here in real life, the biggest enemy of Christianity (or any religion) today are the “followers” who abuse the faith to spread hate and intolerance. The Bible teaches us to be tolerant, those who abuse it do not listen. Also, contrary to popular belief, schools are allowed to have students read the bible, they just can’t be told that it’s fact.

I guess the evangelical persecution complex is thriving still. Maybe this is the new version of I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb video! This is all nuts. Culture changes, get over it. It’s like getting pissed at the seasons and going to war with them because they made you have to dress differently.

I liked it up until they claimed that America “took away our right to believe and worship as we please…” That is completely false. I thought Cristians weren’t allowed to tell bald faced lies? No where inside the United States is it illegal to worship as you please. but also, nowhere inside the United States are you allowed to use public resources for your own personal religion. If you are too dumb to understand the difference then there is no hope for you.

This movie will be a piece of shite. That is a given. However, people who are getting their titties in a twist over it look just as foolish as the film-makers (I use that term loosely). This movie will make next to nothing just like the rest of these straight-to-video releases. It poses no threat whatsoever. There are some genuinely hilarious comments on here, but there are some people who take it to a level it does not need to go. Its like beating a dead horse then shooting it in the face. Side note: Truly great film-making died with Kubrick. Put that in your pipe and, uh,…

Maybe someone should do a documentary on the long history of Christian sponsored censorship.
If the bible was banned, I doubt most Christians would miss it. For many Christians the Bible is nothing more than a fashion accessory to be carried around on Sunday morning.

umm….the end of the trailer started looking more like Batman Begins. Could be good, but it more so looks like a conspiracy church decided to make a movie about what will happen in the future instead of speaking for TODAY. No one seems to understand that “be watchful” (regarding the end times) does not mean “obsess and worship the end times, Give up on saving those sinners (apparently they aren’t worth it), and I’m the only one going to heaven (cuz only i’m REALLY sorry I sinned.)
