WATCH THIS: An evangelical family in Netherlands refuses to remove ‘JEZUS REDT’ sign

Apparently, the beautiful family featured in this video is considered “fanatically Christian” in the Netherlands.

Dutch officials are requesting they remove the words “JEZUS REDT” (Jesus Saves) from their rooftop.

The family refuses to remove their message. BUT they do it with such humility and love. (At least I think so.)

Come on Netherlands, let Joop van Ooijen keep his sign!

Wouldn’t it be nice if America’s Christian radicals were this nice?

Some are that nice. But then, you wouldn’t consider them radical if they were that nice. But I know lots that I would consider radical…and they are some of the kindest people I know.

i am an ex-christian, and am totally un-sympathetic and cutting of people’s attempts to re-convert me, or to save my soul. however, i think it really is a shame that van ooijen should be asked to remove the sign. it is hurting no one, and honestly, is as much an eyesore as the bloody royalty’s palaces!

more power to the van ooijen family, and if that is the source of their strength, to their faith.

I live in the Netherlands and it’s all over the newspapers here. I think they should be able to keep the sign. He sounds humble and nice about it.
This clip portrayed him as much more ‘normal’ though than what I had seen of him until now. All the newspaper articles made him sound really fanatical (of course they LOVED that he has a huge beard…)
I don’t consider him ‘fanatical’, He’s not the typical Dutch christian, but there are christians(?) with really strange views here who are way way way weirder.

Religion here in the Netherlands is really considered a private issue. I guess that’s what you get in a country that’s known for its tolerance – many things are tolerated, but it can only be done if people keep their beliefs to themselves. (of course, one might wonder if that really is tolerance.) And it really is very Dutch to think that “normal is crazy enough”, as we say (so everyone should just calm down and not do anything differently than the neighbors. Keeping up with the Joneses, only the other way around ;-)

but the family does seem very nice. I bet it’ll blow over.

Pat Robertson blasts SNL over Jesus, Tebow skit!
Hmm. SNL has poked fun with Jesus before… Chances are, Pat wouldn’t have said anything about this skit had it not been poking fun at Tebow… SNL has used “Jesus” in skits many many times. There seems to be a double standard among some Christians when the religious sati
