Collide Magazine chats with me about sex, drugs, & rock-n-roll

Okay, I’m lying. There’s no talk of sex or drugs. Collide actually just talks to me about rock & roll, but only the Christian kind. That’s not the only thing they talk to me about, so hopefully you’ll still give it a chance. Sex and drugs would have been a more interesting topic, but still, you should read the interview! Do that here.

Enjoyed the interview, you mentioned Jon Foreman, I can’t seem to get enough of Switchfoot’s new album.

I’m curious of your thoughts on needtobreathe and FlyLeaf? They seem to be two bands that don’t fit the “mold” that i’m really enjoying right now.

I’ve never been first.

I have to confess I haven’t read the book. Not a big memoir fan. You’re very funny, though. So I’m willing to try it.

I so wanted to be on Star Search when I was a kid. American Idol might do well to mix in kids, bands, and comedians.

You may be showing your age with that comment about Xian music not rebounding from it’s heyday. Every generation has the same lament about its beloved tunes, and yet the kids manage to figure out their own groove just fine. I’ve listened to very little new music of any genre since I graduated from college in 1998. I’ve made a few exceptions here and there and found some pleasant surprises, but I like the songs already all woven into my life. That doesn’t mean the new stuff isn’t as good. It just means I’m old and set in my ways.

Great interview. I especially liked your answer to the last question. Although I learn a great deal from the pastor’s sermon on Sunday, I experience God’s heart through creativity–my own and that of others. And it makes sense after all. He created us with the ability to create. I get shivers just knowing that I share that attribute with my maker.

Loved Hear No Evil, btw. I kept laughing out loud. My husband would look at me and go, “What?!” so I’d read whatever it was that made me laugh and he’d laugh too.

Pat Robertson blasts SNL over Jesus, Tebow skit!
Hmm. SNL has poked fun with Jesus before… Chances are, Pat wouldn’t have said anything about this skit had it not been poking fun at Tebow… SNL has used “Jesus” in skits many many times. There seems to be a double standard among some Christians when the religious sati
