Dr. McKnight, I think I was once fortunate enough to take a course under you, externally at Fuller. My comment: The Jesus creed is before else the Shema of Israel (Mark 12:29).
If that is a unitary monotheistic creed, why do we Christians not share it? Instead we have a Trinitarian creed, which is surely not the creed of Jesus.
Ought not Christians to sound like Jesus. The friendly Jewish scribe was not a Trinitarian, and Jesus and he agreed on the most important command of all.

Thank you Lord, for your grace to us this weekend. Bring continued healing to Bob Robinson. And to others we know, and are praying for. Amen.

Thank you, Lord, for another day…
To laugh with my kids.
To kiss my wife.
To talk with friends.
To be embraced by the love of those far and near.
My blood pressure spiked again early Saturday morning at around 2 AM (up to 200/100). After some tense hours of trying to hear from a doctor at 2 in the morning, and lots of prayers, it began to gradually come down. It’s strange, since my BP has been very normal for all three weeks since the surgery. I see the doc this morning.
Thanks for your continued love and care. It is soooooo goooooood to be in the body of Christ.
BTW – Yes, I’ve begun to blog again!

Psalm 30 thanks God (vv. 1-3, 11-12) and exhorts others to thank God (vv. 4-5). Both emerge from the concrete reality of David's own experience. Here is what that experience looks like:Step one: David was set on high and was flourishing at the ...
