“And so all Israel will be saved.” Romans 11:26 has created more than its share of debates, so let’s just solve it today and tomorrow! 8)
There are several elements in 11:25-27 that need to be understood to set up the context:
First, Israel has been hardened.
Second, Gentiles, during this hardening period, are now fulfilling their number.
Third, “and thus” — evidently talking about both Israel’s hardening and Gentile inclusion — “all Israel will be saved.”
Fourth, this occurs according to the promise of God’s covenant faithfulness.
