Caregiving can be consuming. Putting your life goals on hold while you care for a loved one can be extremely frustrating. It’s important to get a grip (and then keep a firm grip) on your priorities.  Taking care of yourself needs to be at the top of the list. Holding on to your dreams and goals helps to give you back a fantastic feeling of control. That’s the focus of this Take Care Tip Tuesday.

Take ten minutes on a regular basis to stay connected to and give a check of your progress toward your long range goals.

To help with that, you can grab a notebook and keep a lilttle journal.  One page could look like this:

1.

2.

3.

Top Three Things I Need to Accomplish Today Are:

(List two related to Work/Home)

1. ___________________________________________

2. ___________________________________________

(List one related to a Life Goal)

3.  ___________________________________________

Putting it in writing forces you to think about what you need to get done short-term, but also keeps you on track to continue fueling the passion you have for a long-term life goal.  There’s great power in that!

Take some time today to reconnect with what you really want out of life, then take action—even just a little bit—to make it happen!

What are your goals?
