How long has it been since you’ve done anything for yourself?

I’m willing to bet it’s been way too long. I want to help you.

I know you may not feel you have time to spend on yourself because you have other people and things that you want to take care of.  I know that you may even feel a little bit (or a lot) of guilt about devoting any time to yourself.

I have been where you are, and I’ve learned that we all have the power within ourselves to stop the destructive cycles and re-start our lives in a healthy, positive way!

I have learned that when you devote even just a few minutes of time to making these changes, everyone around you benefits, too.  As of this minute, you have permission to take care of yourself.

Every week, I’ll bring you ideas for how to spend ten little minutes toward creating a better you.  I reasearched and gathered 101 Ten minute Tips for my first book, here then is Take Care Tip #5 from Take Care Tips, How to Care for Yourself While You’re Taking Care of Others :

Do Something You Love To Do (Simple Pleasures)

Instead of collapsing on the couch in front of the TV for a work break, take ten minutes to do something that feeds your inner child or your  romantic self:  hold hands with someone you care about and go for a walk-or go play in the back yard with the kids.  It doesn’t have to be a whole afternoon; even a few minutes of doing something that brought you happiness in the past has a good chance of putting you back in touch with that sense of happiness again.  And, it can help create a positive frame of mind, making it easier for you to do things for yourself more often.

And when you’re done with that:
Please do make it an afternoon! Allow yourself even more guilt-free time to go to a movie, a ballgame, or take a craft class.  That may take some planning ahead, but do it for yourself.  It can work wonders.

Enjoy!
