Has God ever called you by name?

Jesus said that “he calls his own sheep by name.” (Jn. 10.3)  Scripture is replete with people called by name, by God:  Moses.  Samuel.  Jacob.  Peter.  Hagar.

Some had their name changed and other’s received nicknames.
What about you?  Have you ever heard God call you by name?

I was called by God at the age of 14 to be a Youth Pastor. Now being 22 i have just been hired on at a church to be their Youth Pastor. God called me by name and placed that passion and desire on my heart, so i went after it. There where some rough patches in my life in between then but i never forgot the time God showed me my purpose in life, maybe a lot of you have gotten something like this from God a “calling” on your life, but your not seeing it come to pass, don’t be discouraged if i where to tell you the things that happened right before me getting hired on. You would have asked me why didnt you join the air force or just live your life, but i am telling you right now God is taking care of you and have faith in him, maybe the reason why your not hearing his voice right now or feeling his presence is because he is seeing how much faith you have and if you will endure these hard times and still believe that he is your FATHER in heaven. Be encouraged that God will provide he is still looking after you.

March 18, 2012. Arround 2:30AM … I saw a dream, a few cubes, were as transport for people (souls of the people) was the place when we go to paradise. like I was at the station. was sunset, cubes were covered with translucent curtains, and light wind blew. A voice calling people by name, were ready to travel. And I was there, and I said to myself: I am not worthy to take part here. But the voice continued to invite people. And once said: Shannon … Shannon …! And no one came in last cube. And I asked the Voice: : Agron? … and the voice repeated my name very clearly , and said: …Agron.

(The Lord Himself invited me.
He named me, Shannon. (Shan Nun) Which in Hebrew means: God is gracious! ( mercifull )
