Panera Bread: Take What You Need, Pay What You Can

What if you could pick out anything you wanted to eat and then, instead of paying, you just donated what you could.

Can a non-profit approach be profitable?  Will human nature get in the way or are we prone to generosity? What if this caught on in other businesses?

I absolutely do not think this will work. As much as I would like to beleive in the benevolence of human nature, I think that for every person who gives “over and abover” the value of the food, their will be 10 looking for a deal. Sorry, Panera! I work in non profit, and love the idea.
