Great reminder, Robert. I first got linked to the clip this March, when the British Caribbean and a few related West African nations celebrated the bicentennial of the British Abolition Act (03/25/1807). How far we’ve come… how far indeed.

What a great inspiration. I just loved how he introed the song with the humming as he pictured it being felt from the slave ships. That is so powerful and such an inspiration to me knowing how such great passionate and inspiring music was created in times of immense sorrow and despair. I think I’ll go play some black keys. ; )
