Google-eyed (p1)

Jimmy "Jimbo" Wales, the founder of the free online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, is all Google-eyed.  He believes that there is a better way to do online searching.  So he has started Wikia, "a collection of communities with websites that you can edit."  He figures that the open source approach that allowed him to take down the encyclopedia giant, Britannica will prove a strong strategy against Google as well.

Fastcompanyapril07 The current issue of Fast Company magazine has a good article on the plan.

I’m seeing some connections with this and what it means to be the church?  I even see some links with a jazz-shaped faith.

What about you?

To be continued…

Seems like an avenue to meet people where they are at. Shaping worldviews, and idealogies in “the marketplace” which in this case is the web. That is of course assuming we take the intiative to be in the dialogue.

Cool name brother!
I hadn’t thought about it in terms of “the marketplace”…It definately provides opportunities that we have not seen before and you are right that our initiative to be a part of the dialogue.

Definitely… and i think that with the flexiblity, creativity, and contextual awareness of “jazz” we can really speak life into a variety of arenas, engaging people right where they are at.
And thanks, I am still work’n on the name… might even go with the Neo Griot or some variation. Peace.
