Happy Birthday, Israel!

In 1882, the first wave of modern Jewish immigration to Palestine began.

Today, it is the land of Israel, eight million souls nestled in a tiny but vibrant country. I’ve been blessed to have visited several times and find it to be not only an exciting country, but also quite safe.

Much to the frustration of her enemies, Israel thrives despite a growing global hatred of the Jewish state, regional enemies sworn to her destruction, and the usual internal, societal skirmishes.

Just as the prophets foretold—and this is particularly hated by, quite ironically, religionists in our day—the Jews have returned to their ancestral land. From the rubble of their ancient dwellings, the Star of David flies in the bright sunshine.

Here’s to Israel, the eternal!

Warrior
The Warrior is about to go to his fathers. If press reports are accurate, 85-year-old Israeli legend Ariel Sharon is near death. In a coma for almost eight years, “Arik” is slipping from life. Not wanting to falsely anticipate his demise (we still remember the early Titanic headlines: “Al
