“And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein…”

Zechariah 2:4 is a most interesting prophecy, often overlooked, especially by skeptics. The prediction is that one day, many of Jerusalem’s inhabitants would live outside the city walls.

This was absurd 2,500 years ago—who would leave the protection of the thick city walls? Yet in the mid-19th century it happened. Today, one can visit the site of the first dwellings built outside the walls, and of course, modern Jerusalem is a thriving metropolis.
