This Beautiful Place: Meditation on the Star (Tarot Card)

posted by Aliza Einhorn

"full moon in aquarius" The Star is the future.
It’s not here now, not here yet. Stars are far away. This card always feels vague to me. Hope? Yay! Whatever.

I know I know, context is everything. I rather see the Star than the Tower but when I see the Star, I shrug my shoulders. I just don’t “feel” it.

Hope, but how do we get there?

It’s a card of healing and peace and light, yes. But what else is it? How do we get to this beautiful place?

Important to remember that the Star follows the Tower in the Major Arcana. Hope follows crisis and loss. The Star is what is left. The Star is us. We’re naked. We’ve been destroyed by the Tower but somehow we found water. We eventually got home after wilderness and wasteland. The Star reminds us to look up.

Some Star keywords:

-light at end of tunnel
-recovery, you will be healthy again, you’ll have energy again
-being open where once you were closed, closed off
-peace of mind, tranquility
-things will get better
-let your worries go, pour them out

Dear Readers, do you see The Star?

Yes, I see The Star. It is the 7th Race of Man, perfected humanity, when we are all complete. It’s Light Years away, but still visible to us, as we can see the stars in the night sky, and anticipate the journey.

I see The Star as the gift from the Underworld journey, what we can take back with us to the world above. When we experience profound insight after undergoing struggle, this is The Star’s gift. It’s the cosmic answer to the question we’ve been asking.

Thank you for this wonderful series, Aliza!!

It's windy. He's rushing. He's rushing. It's windy. Even the clouds are edgy, jagged edges. Horse in a hurry, aggressive sword, tilted. Trees tilted. It's all a bit… skewed for the Knight of Swords.

Today's Tarot: The Hanged Man
Are you or are you not a sacrifice? I just drew the Hanged Man for someone and went to Google some images for her and saw a Charlie Brown Hanged Man and he looked so damn unhappy but the message I was delivering to her was not an unhappy one but "don't struggle against the ropes" which reminded o

Today's Tarot: The Tower!
The Tower isn't always bad. I used to think the Tower was always bad. I would often see it for BAD -- for evictions and my best friend's cancer and another eviction and BAD. But when I saw it today for a client who I've worked with quite a bit over the years, I KNEW it was not bad. I knew.  See,

Today's Tarot: King of Cups!
Mourn if you must, mourn. But don't get it on me, says the King of Cups. I've got a job to do. I'm busy. Can't you see? I am busy curtailing and corralling the emotional life of MY Kingdom and MY Cup
