A baby named Michelle gave the world a glimmer of hope and inspiration yesterday when she was discovered alive–after five days trapped beneath a fallen building.

With all the terribly sad stories coming out of Haiti, many a heart lept with joy when the two year old was pulled from the rubble of a collapsed building. 

The baby was discovered with the help of a rescue team from the Miami-Dade County area, a team from France and sniffer dogs who picked up her scent.

She was dehydrated but expected to be fine. A beautiful moment came when she was put into the arms of her father. See more on this story.
