My Earth Day Movie Picks

posted by Kris Rasmussen

Movie Mom and I have both posted lists in the past  of excellent movies available on DVD with a “green focus.”  Well, for Earth Day 2011, I would like to update my list with a couple of new choices you should check out.

“Bag It”:  This documentary examines the ongoing problem of plastic and our exo-system and what we can do to make a difference. If you can’t find the DVD, it will be airing on some local PBS stations, so check your area’s listings.

On Coal River: A heartbreaking and yet uplifting  look at a town as it faces the harsh truth about what the coal industry has done to their community and then they do something about it. It’s playing in limited release and you can buy the DVD from the movie website for group events. It will be available on Netflix in the near future.
