Famous Designers Draw ‘Twilight’ Wedding Dress

posted by shuang

twilight-monique-lhuillier.jpgInStyle.com asked a bevy of famous, upscale designers to imagine Bella Swan’s wedding dress for “Eclipse,” the third movie in the “Twilight” saga.

Runway favorites Monique Lhuillier, Erin Fetherston, Max Azria, Badgley Mischka, Zac Posen, and even “Project Runway” winner Christian Siriano have submitted sketches of how they imagine the anticipated “Twilight” wedding gown.

In the book “Eclipse,” the wedding dress is first envisioned by Bella, and then later described more in detail by Alice Cullen:

“I saw myself in a long skirt and a high-necked lace blouse with my hair piled up on my head.” (pg. 277)

“It was my Anne of Green Gables vision all over again…. ‘Nineteen-eighteen?’ I guessed. “More or less,” [Alice] said, nodding. ‘Some of it is MY design, the train, the veil…’ She touched the white satin as she spoke. ‘The lace is vintage.'” (p. 614)

Twilight Lexicon also quotes author Stephenie Meyer further describing the dress:

“Two key words…art nouveau. It’s a simpler style than the frillier Edwardian stuff. Elegant white satin, cut on the bias, with long sleeves…”

Which of the designer dresses is your favorite? (Mine is a toss-up between Monique Lhuillier and Lela Rose). How did you imagine Bella’s wedding dress?

The USA seems prepared to go to war with Iran not because they have the bomb, nor because of the harm they are doing there neighbors, America is prepared to go to war because of the potential harm the bomb could do. And The Citizens of California are apposed to same sex marriage because of the Harm it could do to the human race. SSM. is a bomb that could destroy the human race. Same sex couples may think that SSM. would reduce the violence perpetrated against homosexuals and in the short run, they may be right. But eventually people will pull there heads out of the boob-tube and realize that SSM threatens the extinction of the human race. If you back a rat into a corner and threaten its existence, what will happen?

My favorite wedding dress is Max’s. I love the old fashioned look of it. I would have some hair up, some down. The dress would be simple, with a pearled bodice design. It would have a long train, that would be gathered at the back after the wedding. The neck would be high, the sleeves long, also with pearl details at the wrists. The hem would also have a pearl design. The flowers would match the pearl design on the dress.
As for the above comment about SSM, not everyone is going to agree to SSM, or for that matter SS partners. The human race would not be destroyed because of it. These people are making their own life choices. We are not to be their judge.
As for the bomb, America always must be prepared for ANYTHING or ANYONE, not just IRAN.

I like this dress a lot better than the other ones. I think it might be my favorite. The only thing that’s not right are the sleeves. Bella’s wedding dress is supposesd to have long sleeves.
