Kelly Clarkson’s Jesus Juice

Biblical exegesis meets the Billboard Hot 100 in the January/February issue of Blender magazine. Kelly Clarkson–Blender’s Woman of the Year, winner of the first “American Idol,” and singer of the ubiquitous and insidiously infectious “Since U Been Gone”–considers herself a Christian, but is no “holy roller,” notes Blender. Having a couple of drinks at an after-concert party she says, “I don’t sweat it. Jesus drank. It came straight from the Bible that he had a glass of wine. Actually, I don’t know if it says he actually drank it, but whatever.”

After all, the Bible is a little bit ambiguous about Jesus’ highly-debated drinking habits, though he does say to his Disciples at the Last Supper, “Drink this in rememberance of me, or whatever.”

the wine that they are drinking were not fermented… a glass of wine is good for the stomach…but some people were over exaggerating it, wherein they are thinking and they do not base their view on what the bible has said. We have to know Jesus Christ first as who He is…search the word of God..>

Yes, Jesus drank. He even noted that some people blew him off as a glutton and “drunkard” because he liked to eat and drink at parties. The essence of their crticism was that he wasn’t the kind of joyless ascetic that they thought a holy man should be. I’m a pretty much a teetotaler myself, and very much opposed to over-consumption of alcohol. Jesus was also against its abuse…but not its use.>

hey, firstly I loooovvvveee u!! you are like the best singer.. yeah, there is notin wrong with having a glass of wine, just not getting drunk!! hope u stay a christian!!

Before I say anything I want to say that I love Kelly Clarkson. But I think we are missing the point. What is a christian? Romans 10:9 says “that if you confess with your mouth ‘jesus is lord’ and beleive in your heart that god raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” You see saying your a Christian means one thing, but then living out what you beleive and actually beleiving it, is really what it comes down to. So anyone who is reading this and says they are a christian, ask the Lord to review your heart. Really what does merely saying your a Christian mean? However I do not deny that Kelly Clarkson is a Christian, but I dont have reason to beleive that she is, yet, either. Thanks everyone and I love Kelly!

Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise. Proverbs 20:1
never take sin lightly, it is deadly. people make it seem as though getting to heaven is easy but God says not everyone will make it in.
I want everyone to get into heaven, just follow the rules.
    do preachers ever drink?

    Jake,
“Following the rules” doesn’t get anyone to Heaven. Faith in Christ is the way to be saved.

    Ephesians 2:8-9:
‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.’
