How to Avoid Lumpy Gravy

flourWhen you make that delicious gravy that enhances so many dishes, it’s inevitable, it seems, that those unsightly, and definitely not tasty, lumps suddenly appear. Here’s how to prevent them:

1. Blend a bit of a thickening agents, like cornstarch or flour, with a bit of hot liquid, such as milk, bouillon or water, to create a paste and stir it into the rest of the hot liquid.
2. Add this to gravy, sauces or casseroles or soups.
